Chapter Seven: The End

It was Monday afternoon as Nick and Bell sat at the piano at Nick's house. The entire weekend had gone by so quickly. After they went to the Sight Lab, Nick and his brothers took Bell to a concert -not one of their own. She protested against them wasting money on her but Joe made it clear that he wouldn't take no for an answer. Bell felt flattered but also slightly confused as to why they would do all this for her.

Sunday had been spent at her volunteer work. She loved working with pets so she took the opportunity and helped out the local groomers. Turns out that they also had a job opening so Bell took that as well. She officially quit the studio job and said goodbye to Michael forever. He didn't even give her a nod or acknowledgment towards her quitting. Bell should have know he was a class A douche bag.

Unfortunately, now that the whole almost raped thing happened, Bell felt her confidence practically disappear. She didn't want to be around anyone who looked able to hurt her.

"Bell?" Nick spoke suddenly, breaking Bell out of her little thoughts.

"Yes?"

"What are you thinking about?" He asked quietly, his fingers repeatedly pressing a set of keys that Bell had given him. The soft lull of the keys and Nick's gentle voice made Bell smile.

"Nothing important," Bell answered and put her own smaller fingers on the keys. Together they began to play a soft lullaby. It had no actual keys, but just the instinctive musical talent from the both of them.

Nick loved this, sitting at a piano with a girl by his side that had the power to create musical beauty with just a few simple keys. Never had he done this with someone. He didn't think he would let anyone in before Bell came along.

"What are you thinking?" Bell asked suddenly, taking Nick off guard with a question he had asked her.

His eyebrows pushed together. For some reason, Nick didn't want to hide anything from the girl beside him.

"I'm thinking about you," Nick answered and Bell gasped, her eyes widening at his confession.

"We don't know each other," Bell murmured, her hands stilling on the piano. Nick stopped playing as well and they turned towards each other.

"That's the beauty in this," Nick smiled at her, causing her heart to beat. "I don't know you, but I feel like I do."

Bell's mind filled with the memory of her Jonas Brothers' concert. How she and Nick locked eyes on each other before he was sprayed in the eyes. Before he lost his sight he had seen her.

It's a memory that Bell has kept to herself. She didn't want to tell Nick as she felt like he'd freak out. Besides, she was just another girl in the audience.

Bell swallowed down that fear though and only saw Nick, the man who had always had a part of her life. Only this time, he's not a poster on the wall, he's real.

"You've seen me before," Bell whispered and Nick's eyes widened.

"I have? That's great! When?" Nick felt hope surge through him, if he had seen her before, maybe she could remember her now.

"The concert, the night it happened. I was in the audience," Bell said and Nick's face drained of color. In his mind he pictured the soft face of the brunette in the audience. The one that had taken his breath away.

She couldn't seriously be her.

"What color is your hair?" Nick asked.

"Brown," she answered simply.
