With such a deep passion for Photography, taking a well deserved stroll along the beach at sunset to capture some amazing pictures, seems like my only escape. Being a 20 year old girl in California isn't so easy. My parents split up when I was just 15 months old and since then my life has been one big puzzle. I've always felt like I don't belong, like I will never feel at all content with my life, unless I feel one thing. Love.

It was 6:40pm and the remains of my first day on summer break. With my camera around my neck and a super delicious smoothie in my hand, it was time for a stroll at sunset, the warmth of the smooth sand covered my feet like a blanket as I walked towards the sea front, apart from having my hair being blown all over my face, it was the perfect night to photograph the perfect view right in front of me. Happily, I lifted my head upwards and closed my eyes, whilst taking a deep breath, I finally felt at home. Sprawled out on the deck chairs dotted around the beach, I turned my camera on and started to capture the deep indigo and turquoise hues that filled the sky with such vibrancy. Now it was 8:00pm and the sky was still shining with such brightness. With my smoothie all gone, and my pictures taken, I decided that it was now time to part ways with the sky and head home.

Anxiously, I began to look around whilst walking back towards the top of the beach, I suffer with extremely bad anxiety and walking alone has always been one of my fears. I began walking faster and faster, thinking desperately to myself 'you are fine, stop worrying'. Until I was knocked out of my thoughts when I heard a gentle voice say "Hey, would you mind taking a picture for me?". I turned around to face a handsome man with deep brown hair and bright blue eyes that sparkled against the choppy sea. "Yes of course, where would you like to stand?", I replied. As his face filled with delight, he positioned himself in front of the sky. "Just here, I want to capture the sunset if that's okay?". I smiled before saying "Yeah sure, I love to take pictures of sunsets". I held the camera up, making sure to capture the friendly man and the sunset towering over him. Every once in a while he would stand slightly different until he was satisfied that he had taken a great picture. He began to walk towards me, before politely thanking me. "You're welcome", I replied.

The man, who's name was still unknown, began to walk beside me, as I once again attempted to reach the top of the beach.
"Thanks again, I really appreciate it, the pictures are great". He spoke.
"Oh it's fine honestly, I'm used to taking pictures for people, I'm the holiday photographer when my family go on holiday", I say.
He turned to face me, a smile forming on his face.
"Ah, I see, well if I'm being entirely honest with you, you look like the photographer type".
Flattered by his comment, my cheeks began to heat up, I was blushing.
"Oh really?", I replied.
"Yeah you do, I saw you sat on those deck chairs over there taking pictures of the sunset and thought I'm going to ask her to take this photo for me".
I felt so flattered, he was being so nice to me.
"Oh well you did the right thing, I am a Photographer". I chuckled.
"Wow, well I must say you're a great one". He responded.

Unfortunately, we began to reach the top of the beach, and it dawned on me that I would never see this lovely man again. I started to walk along the beach sidewalk, when I heard someone running behind me. Turning around fast, I saw the man who asked me to take his picture, sprinting towards me. He reached me, out of breath as I expected. "Hey, I'm sorry I forgot to ask for your name".
"You scared me for a second then", I replied. "My name is Amelie".
Now breathing normally, he held out his hand.
"Luke. My name is Luke". He smiled.
"Well it was very nice to meet you Luke", I say whilst shaking his hand. He looked downwards before looking up at me and smiling.
"Yes you too, see you around?".
"See you around".
