Amelie's POV:
I was woken up by the sound of my phone vibrating, and I knew better than anyone else that it was my alarm. Angrily, I grabbed my phone from under my pillow and tapped it furiously hoping the alarm would soon stop, fortunately it did. Being brave, I opened my eyes, as always I instantly regretted it as I knew my eyes would be made to burn by the blinding sun that shone through my curtains. Now I was awake, there was no way I was going to fall back asleep, so I grabbed my dressing gown and head downstairs. Just like every morning I was greeted by my mums very own English breakfast and my god was it good.
"Morning sweetie, breakfast will be done in 5", she said before pulling me into a tight hug.
I smiled. "Morning Mum, I'm just gonna chill on the sofa, shout me when it's done". Turning around to head into the living room, my mum instantly knew something was up, and just like always she had to question me.
"Sleep well Millie?". That was the nickname I was given when I was born, and I can honestly say I don't hate it.
"Oh you know, just a bit of tossing and turning that's all". She turned to face me.
"Why? What's wrong, are you having those nightmares again because if you are we can go back to the doctors, they can help you". Whenever, I've had a bad nights sleep, my mum automatically thinks the worst.
"No Mum, I'm fine I just had a lot on my mind. But don't worry, it's nothing bad", I sighed. My mum has always been protective over me, and I am very grateful for it, most mums couldn't care less about their child.
"Okay love, but remember if there is something bothering you, don't hesitate to tell me okay.".
"Okay Mum".
The truth is that I couldn't stop thinking about Luke. He was such a gentlemen, and he loves sunsets just as much as I do. It's such a shame that I will never see him again, I know he said see you around but what's that supposed to mean? Where will I see him around? He might not even live around here, and once again I have gotten attached way to quick.
Hungry, just like always I ate my breakfast and went straight back up to my room. I pulled my curtains back and let the sun fill my room up with light, it was such a lovely day, and the perfect weather to head down to the beach. I grabbed my phone before texting my best friend.
Me - Hey, fancy taking a trip down to the beach? X
Eve - Hey girl, sure give me 20 mins to get ready and I'll pick you up! X
Me - Okay see you in 20. X
Usually, having 20 minutes to get ready would be a nightmare, but seen as we were only going to the beach, I only had to pop on a bikini and shorts. I didn't bother with makeup because having eyelashes bigger than your future isn't a great idea when you're going to be splashing around in the sea. Before heading outside to meet Eve, I checked myself out in the mirror. I look good considering that I haven't worked out in months.

........................
The beach was packed as usual, so I decided to go to my favourite spot. The trusty deck chairs, right at the bottom of the beach. I grabbed Eve's hand and darted through all the people surrounding the beach, "quick run" I screamed. And what do you know, we got there just in time. I snatched my sun glasses from the inside of my bag and placed them on my face, before laying down on the deck chair hoping to catch a tan. Eve, shot up from the deck chair and turned to face me. "So, what's up? Why did you bring me to your favourite spot on the beach?". Disturbed, I sat upright and placed my shades on the top of my head, before replying.
"I met someone last night at sunset, I can't stop thinking about him Eve, it's like he's trapped inside my head".
"Woah, really? What's his name?".
"Luke, he was such a gentlemen".
"Wow Amelie, I don't know what to say, how did you meet? There's not many people on the beach at sunset".
"Well, I was sat right here taking pictures of the sunset, I had finished my smoothie and the pictures were great so I began walking back home. I got half way up the beach when he asked me to take a photo for him, he wanted a picture of himself with the sunset, so I gladly took it for him. We talked for a while afterwards, before I headed home. He forgot to ask for my name so he ran after me, that's where we told each other our names, and said we'd see each other around".
Eve had a huge smile starting to form on her face, I could tell she was going to say something that would make me cringe. She brought her face up from her hands. "Well, I never thought I'd say this, but he sounds like a nice guy, you should definitely contact him". That's when I realised that I didn't have his number, or anything that would enable me to contact him. I let out a huge sigh, before placing my shades back onto my face, continuing to sunbathe.
"Amelie, what's wrong now?".
I turned my head towards her deck chair.
"I didn't get his number". As soon as those words left my mouth, Eve immediately got up from the deck chair and started to gather up her things. "Eve what are you doing?". Letting out a little laugh she replied. "You mean what are we doing? We're going to find Luke!".
