Ponyboy woke up to something sliding down his hand.
Ally's hand, which was drenched in drool.
"Aww, gross!" He grumbled sleepily, grabbing a tissue to wipe the drool off with.
He wiped her down and got her changed into a fresh pair of clothes.
Soda was already up, along with Steve who had spent the night at the Curtis' because of his dad.
Steve came into the kitchen and stood next to Pony as he strapped her back into her carrier and lifted her up. "Why do ya keep 'er in that thing?"
"'Cause there ain't nowhere else to put her."
Steve made a cradle with his arms and waited patiently for Pony to place her in them. Pony only gave him a weird look.
"I'll be gentle, I swear it."
Pony sighed and, after a few moments hesitation, carefully placed Ally in her uncle's arms.
Ally cooed and held onto Steve's collar tightly as he rocked her slowly.
"She's so light." He commented to nobody in particular as Soda and Darry wandered into the kitchen.
"'ey, has anyone seen Two-Bit around anywhere?" Pony asked.
Two-Bit walked out of the bathroom and strolled into the kitchen, straight to the ice box for another beer.
"Y'know, if ya drink too much beer, you'll get alcohol poisonin' in a few months." Soda pointed out nonchalantly.
"Yeah, I should be so lucky." He grumbled, slouching into a chair when he had no such luck in finding one.
"Hush, Two-Bit. It ain't the end of the world, alright?"
Two-Bit rolled his eyes.
"Sure it ain't, kid." He muttered. "So where's breakfast at?"
"It ain't cooked yet, ya numbskull." Pony answered, bringing out a pan to fry some bacon with.
Soda scooped Ally out of Steve's arms and into his.
"Uncle Stevie's a hogger, right, Al?" Soda cooed as he bounced her around the kitchen.
"'ey, I ain't done 'less I say so." Steve snapped, trying to take Ally back. Soda shook his head and walked away, still bouncing her in his arms as the baby's giggles filled the kitchen.
Ally loved the attention the boys were giving her to say the least.
Ponyboy had finished making her bottle by then and handed it to Soda to give to her.
"So how ya guys likin' 'er so far?" He asked as he brought the bacon out from the ice box.
"She's a good baby."
Darry agreed as he walked around trying to find his work boots.
Soda's arms got tired as Dally and Johnny strolled in through the front door. He passed her to Two-Bit who immediately started making faces, causing her to break out in a fit of giggles.
"Okay, Momma ain't held 'er yet, so pass her over." Pony said, holding his arms out for his daughter.
Two-Bit just shook his head and held her closer.
Pony grumbled and resumed cooking.
A smell suddenly came from Ally. Two-Bit stopped and sniffed the air. "Please tell me you didn't." He lifted her up and smelled around her diaper area, gagging.
"Oh God, you did!"
"Diaper Duty." Pony said, smirking as Two-Bit scowled at him and walked into the bathroom with Ally.
