A while later,my parents did that thing where you intensively cuddle and POP your pregnant!well that happened.she took a few tests and they all turned out positive. I didn't know what pregnant meant so I was just told I would have a baby brother,I was so happy,I thought it might help me with cancer, you know make me happier kind of thing.i could see my mam was sick but not in the same way I was,she also piled on the weight.she was a fat mama!
A long 9 months later my baby brother was born. I was allowed to choose the name so I called him Scott (apparently this was a sibling alliteration.) Everyone liked the name I chose,it was mature. With me only being 3,they thought I would say something stupid like Fungus (between you and me,I secretly wanted to call him that.) He was a beautiful healthy baby furthermore my parents worried for a long time hoping he wouldn't be the same as me and suffer from cancer. Lucky Scott, he was just a normal child.
A couple years passed by and we celebrated my 5th birthday, my family and I usually celebrated my living every so often because they didn't know how much longer I had left. On my birthday I got a new bike which attached to my father's so we could go in bike rides together. My grandmother adopted me my own pony,I got to go see her every weekend because her stable was only around the corner from our house. She was called "whip'n'neigh neigh" and I loved her so much.I got a hell of a lot of money, this I kept aside incase I ever needed a transplant or any other operations, I was smart like that.We decided to close the day nicley as the weather was gorgeous so we all went on a long bike ride with Scott, who was now 2,attached to the back of my mother's bike and myself to the back of my father's. It was the most fun I'd had in years. Once we got back, we cuddled up on the sofa and watched our favourite film 'Alvin and the chipmunks',we laughed until our hearts content and all fell asleep on the sofa in the most uncomfortable way. I woke my father up during the night,I couldn't breathe or see. It gave me a huge flashback to the first time it happened to me and how I was diagnosed I knew a little bit more about cancer now I was 5 but not so much to know that it could kill me so young.
He rushed me to hospital but half way there the car broke down and we ran out of gas. No one offered to help us even when he was shouting "can Any one give us a lift my child is dying please!" He was begging and begging until one red mini cooper stopped by his feet and offered us a lift to the hospital, the man seemed so kind and him and my dad talked for a while, he was called joe. He knew what it was like to have a daughter dying of cancer and turns out we were in the same ward for a little while. Both him and my dad talked to take their minds of sophie (joes daughter) and myself. Half an hour later,Mark came over to me and carried me over to the private wards. Once again I was put to sleep and a lot of doctors did quite a few tests on me so I was told. My father was waiting outside the ward with joe who was also waiting anxiously. We got home at 5:00,we were both utterly and completely shattered so went straight back to sleep but got woken up by the sound of Scott crying which 99% of the time was caused by night mares.
In the morning joe and my dad arranged a play date for sophie and myself,I was really excited. Joe took us out for ice cream, and then to the metro centre.me and sophie bought matching floral dresses,I remember the day crystal clear. As soon as we got home we put on our dresses and danced around like princesses all day. Those were some of the best times, shortly after we became best friends and started hanging out every weekend, she knew how I felt,we suffered the exact same pain and it was torture. But we loved each other to pieces and became inseparable.
