Dark!Luke Skywalker | Ultranumb ^^^

A Month Earlier...

"You have done well, Darth Hirinous..."

Hirinous felt a venomous pride stir within him at his Master's praise as he knelt lowly at Sidious' feet, gazing shrewdly at the floor before him. Darkness furled through him like a coiling serpent rising from its musings as he dared lifted his golden orbs to meet his Master's own.

"Thank you, my lord..."

There was no feeling, no love, no mercy that remained within his soul...

Yet there was this one thing that still clung to him...a fragment of his past...still pure...still unrefined...bright...

A malevolent hiss broke forth from Sidious' cruel lips, crackling the air and Hirinous recoiled slightly, dropping his eyes sharply to the floor once more.

"Your thoughts still draw to Anakin, don't they?"

"Yes..." Hirinous uttered softly, almost fearfully and he felt his hatred only swell further towards Luke Skywalker as his former self's weakness returned to him.

The air seemed to thin as soundlessness roared within Hirinous' ears and he found himself trembling with anticipation, waiting for the penny to drop...

When Sidious spoke again, his voice was deadly placid, only warning of eminent danger. "I see... Become a little weak kneed after a month, have you, Hirinous?"

Sidious accentuated his name in pure malice and Hirinous raised his head swiftly, his eyes bulging slightly with dismay, which had suddenly lost there intensity. "No!" He gasped in denial, shaking his head rapidly. "No, of course not-"

Yet it was too late for redemption. Hirinous only had a split second to register what was happening as Sidious raised his hands and with a flick of his wrists, flaming blue tendrils exploded from his fingertips, reaching out to him in a mere milli-second and before he could even attempt to deflect it, it was snaking over his body, ravishing each cell, turning his very bones ablaze. The shock and the agony made a cry emit from Hirinous' lips as he crumpled on the icy floor, his veins stringing with electricity, his blood turning into a bubbling curd of heat, his eyes squeezed shut as he struggled to withstand the pain that was gradually leading him passed his endurance...

And then the sizzling agony ceased, ending as soon as it had started and Hirinous rasped for breath, wheezing and spluttering as his body jolted slightly with static, the pain still existent, yet ebbing. After a moment, he gradually lifted his head and warily opened his eyes, only to be greeted with the sight of the world spinning in nauseating spirals until it slowly came into focus. He was hardly reassure when he noticed how Sidious still remained poised, warning of another assault following in the wake of the first. He'd thought that Sidious would be merciful towards him, yet now he was no longer sure; even to his informants, he was unforgiving.

Sidious chortled, a disfigured sound that caused a shiver to rage up Hirinous' spine as his Master's next words grated against his ears.

"You still have much to learn, my dear apprentice... Your thoughts are your weakness, as is your feelings, as is the memories of the man that you thought you knew... I do not want to punish you for your lapse in your resolve, yet how else can I teach you this valuable lesson?..."

Hirinous decided against raising himself into a kneeling position, because if his suspicions were correct, he would simply be knocked down once again. Instead he remained obediently on the floor, curling into himself slightly to prepare for the next onslaught of agony, contemplating his Master's words very carefully.
