Marqais pushed me away. Anger filled his eyes. "No! You don't understand!" He growled as his eyes turned redder. I backed away frightened. At my reaction he got more angry. "I knew you were afraid! Leave me alone! I'm a monster!"

He pushed me to the floor and ran out the alley. "No!" I yelled. It was too late, he used his vampire speed. He was too far for a human to ever catch up to him. But I...could use my alien speed. I quickly took out the infinity bag out of my pocket. I rummaged the inside and took out the Species Scanner. "Deactivate feet." The scanner made beeping noises and soon my scaly feet and talons were back.

I shot out of the alleyway in full speed. It felt great  to walk in my own limbs. The wind blew my human hair back. I felt free, maybe even confident for once. I shook my head. It was no time to play around. Marqais was in trouble. I also knew where he was.

As I got close to the fence I saw Marqais taking time to breathe on the meadow hills. He seemed out of breathe from all that running. "Marqais!" I yelled out. I tackled him to the floor. He grunted as he hit the floor. I hugged him tightly. "Please don't run away like that! You scared me!" My mouth blurted on its own.

Marqais tensed in my arms. "You...were.. uh.... scared for me?" He cleared his throat as it got awkward. I just realized what I was doing. "And you weren't...scared OF me?"

I pushed him away from me. "No! Shut up!" I crossed my arms as my face started to heat up. I felt so awkward realizing I just hugged him.

Marqais got up and dusted himself off. "Whatever.... don't come near me again..." He started to walk away.

Instinctively, I grabbed  his hand.  "No...." Everything seemed to pause. Silence followed which I hated. I broke it off, "Marqais... I... I don't know what's going on.... but I know that we should stick together.... I feel we need to stick together..." I took a deep breath, "Whatever you are, I don't care. You're still the annoying grunt that saved my life."

"Elisha...." He whispered. His voice was raspy and had a restraint on it. He grabbed my arm that held his wrist. I sharply gasped and bit my lip, trying not to freak out. He opened up his mouth ready to bite into my arm. I readied myself to get bitten. He didn't bite me though. With the little power he had he tried to restrain himself from biting me. He still tried to act humanly.

"It's okay....go ahead...." I said softly. He froze in shock as I said those words. I sighed and jabbed my own wrist into his fangs. I groaned in pain. I bit my lip to resist the pain. "I'm fine. I'm fine. You said y-you...you wanted it....s-so...here."

He held onto my arm, sipping the blood from my veins. I held onto his shoulder tightly trying to rid the pain. I let little squeaks from time to time.

After he was pleased with the amount he let go of my arm. He wiped off the remaining blood on his arm. "Sorry....I couldn't control myself..." He looked down, disappointed at himself. "Your blood is really something....." His eyes looked down cravingly.

I smiled up at him genuinely. "It's okay. You can do whatever you like." Those words slipped out of my mouth. In that second I realized what I said but I couldn't go back anymore. I kept smiling trying not to make it awkward.

His face turned bright red. His fist tightened and he couldn't meet my eyes. He looked away from me and stuttered. "Wh-what.....what I want?! Uhm...Whatever I want..." He turned away from me, his face bright red. "Don't say things like that!"

I became bewildered. I knew I didn't want to say it because I didn't want him getting a big head, but why didn't he like what I said? Getting whatever you wanted seemed cool to me. Why was he red too? He seemed redder than the apples he fed me. "What's wrong?" I asked suspiciously.
