Beep. Beep. Beep

Beeping? What's beeping? It can't be my alarm. It doesn't make that sound.

Beep. Beep. Beep.

"Uggh.." I groaned. I was quiet groggy. What happened last night I'm pretty sure was a dream, but why am I so god damn warn out?

"(Y/N)? You awake?" A female voice asked.

I moaned in response before kicking myself up, doing so hurt like hell. I thought I was home, in bed or something, but no. I was in a hospital room. "What the hell? Why am I here?" This seemed like a cliche in a poorly written story. Confusion of being in a hospital. How classic.

"You're here because of the fire in that abandoned building. Remember? You have many injuries on you. Are you feeling alright?" The girl said again. I finally turned to the girl, and she looked familiar. Short brown hair. Bangs, not long enough to be over here eyes. Light brown eyes. Baby face. Who looks like this...?

....Ritsuka!

I've only really seen her in some pictures she sent. I should have remembered right away, but I'm just gonna say it's because of my grogginess. I don't wanna sound like too bad of a friend.

"Oh, don't worry. I'm fine." I say, pretending like I wasn't just in pain just from getting up. "How are you?"

"I'm good besides, you know, worrying that my friend has been in the hospital for around 2 weeks!" She complained. It's hard to believe I was out for two weeks. I haven't even been to school once this year. That attack keeps bringing me so many inconveniences... At least I'm alive, right?

The attack. The blurriest part about it was after the fire was started. I remember a strange man appearing, but that's it. Another horrible cliche. My life is turning into some stupid novel.

"Not like I chose to be attacked. I got.... a little lost."

"I knew you were. Couldn't you have messaged me before you left? We could have met on our way there and I would've known something happened if you didn't show."

....She has a point. "I know, I know. I'm stupid. New country more risk." I sigh, crossing my arms.

"Yup! From now on me or my brother shall accompany you to and from school." Ritsuka proclaimed happily. "Now you can feel safe." Her face looked proud that she was gonna try to be a knight in shining armor. "I appreciate the offer and all, Ritsuka, but you really don't have to." I reply as nicely as I could. The whole thought of having people escorting me sounded a bit... ridiculous.

"But we do." A tall man stepped into the room. His hair reminded me of ketchup. "You caused my sister too much worry. I don't want her to go through losing a friend agai-" He cut himself off. I guess he didn't want to touch on that topic. Ritsuka told me during her past adventure, she lost a dear friend. Lindo must be respecting her feelings. Such a good brother cousin guy.  "But anyway, there's no ifs ands or buts about it, (Y/N). We're escorting you rather you like it or not."

Lindo gave off a motherly tone. Ritsuka told me how her cousin is like a brother who is like a mother to her. Getting her up in the morning, making breakfast, making sure she leaves in time, cooks her lunch and dinner, make sure she studies, brushes her teeth, and gets her to bed on time. I couldn't really argue with a guy like that. "Fine, mom." I huffed in response. Ritsuka giggled while Lindo stared at me shocked that I called him mom.
