You with your dark hair and piercing eyes,
Shining in the light like sapphiresYou with your witty brain and lovely voice
With which you speak my name
You in your beautiful purple dress,
Stealing a man's eye like I do with his money
You with your soft lips
Stealing kisses from each man you want
You with your attitude,
Mirroring mine for the better, turning me into a real man
But then the roulette stopped spinning,
The cards stopped playing,
The chips stopped existing,
The money stopped flowing,
The guns started shooting,
The Vesper lost its taste.
Your dark hair was flowing in the water
Your eyes were losing their color, panic taking over
Your witty brain was losing itselfYour lovely voice managed a piercing scream of horror
You in your beautiful purple dress, shaking in the shower, blood on your delicate hands
Your soft lips lost their color as you kissed my hand for the last time, cold when I pressed mine against yours
Your attitude, gone forever when you shut down, like a beautiful doll sinking to the bottom of the sea
You failed to come back to me
And I failed to save you
Your body lifeless
The cold necklace against your chestWhich I carry each day in my pocket
And the drink I named after you
Is my way of having you forever, my body drunk from the sadness I carry with me each time I think of youMy Vesper.
