The months of the year are based on the Sino-Korean numerals a.k.a " chinese based number ". Each month, starting in January, is represented as a number followed by 월(weol) , which means "month". As an example, March is the third month, so it is 3 (삼-sam) followed by 월(weol) , making 삼월(sam-weol).
