The High Queen sat on the head of a long meeting table, with a hundred or so nobles yelling at each other, sometimes her, and cursing the Creators themselves for not doing anything.
"We need more soldiers; the Robin rebellion is taking over!"
"Bandit raids! Always the raid-"
"Our battlegrounds aren't safe for training yet, keep cal-"
"People are running out of food, use your powers to make mo-"
"Frame Cast is not responding, send another diplomat-"
"Draw Cast closed off its borders! We must-"
"Why don't you do anything? You guys have powers-"
It was all too much for her, and with a flash of royal anger, the High Queen stood up and slammed her hand against the table.
"SILENCE!"
In an instant, silence fell upon the room-the kind of silence that follows fear: the High Queen had never, ever lost her temper before. If she lost it now-even for a moment-then that means that she is really angry.
Huffing, Shannoing gracefully sat back down. "Thank you. Now, we should-"
Kiwi suddenly burst into the room, followed by Dox, who was looking kind of pissed at the other's reaction.
"GHOST IS MISSING!" Kiwi yelled, borderline hysterical. "She isn't anywhere in Storycraft, and she closed off her mind!"
"Is Pixel still with us?" The High Queen asked, standing up once again. "Surely he must know where she had gone."
Dox patted Kiwi on the back, handing her a paper bag to breath into. "That's the point: even HE doesn't know where she is...."~Ghost~
Ghost shocked into someplace in the middle of nowhere, clutching her head so hard that it looked painful. Her eyes where darting around, looking for something-or someone.
"Ah, so you have arrived. For a second there, I thought you had lost your nerve." Chaos materialized in front of her, and the world distorted slightly; Trees nearby twisting, dirt shifting and mixing with gravel, etc.
"What do you want with me?" Ghost asked, gritting her teeth. For some reason, her 'dark side' is fighting as hard as ever to resurface.
Sighing, Chaos looked down to meet her eyes. "The results of my mistakes are horrific, and it is time to correct them." Sighing, he continued."You weren't meant to love Pixel,it was all a side-effect"
Ghost's eyes narrowed, hand moving from her head to her sword. "Side-effect. Of what?"
Chaos looked down with an expression of... Guilt? The overseer was guilty? "You see, while creating you and your powers, I funneled my emotions into you. I didn't expect anything to happen, so imagine my surprise when you fell in love with Order's personal favorite. The 'love' you felt for him wasn't genuine; it was my emotions that lured you into him."
"So...." Ghost growled softly, grip tightening on the hilt of her sword. "You are saying that our relationship was a lie?"
Chaos looked up, eyebrow raised. "Yes, I am. Yet I can't help but feel impressed; you managed to get the creator of life to fall for YOU-and he didn't have anything influencing him. Nevertheless, I have to fix that."
Ghost drew her sword, backing away. "Stay away-!"
~Alex~
Alex stood in a clearing, spear in hand and facing a worn and battered training dummy. Sweat was dripping off his brow, and he leaned on the spear for support.
"Just.... Once... More..." Alex raised his hand, gritting his teeth and drawing on The Source.
His eyes pulsed white, and translucent tendrils of light began wrapping around the dummy-repairing the the various scratches and restoring it to prime condition.
Hefting the heavy spear, Alex prepared to strike-only to be interrupted by slow clapping.
"Don't overtax yourself young one," Kiwi said, emerging from the darkness. "Don't try to run when you barely know how to walk."
Alex nodded warily, drinking from a canteen on his belt. "Y-yes, I think that I have been overtaxing myself...."
Kiwi surveyed the area around them, noting the large ring of dead grass and a couple of withered trees. "You are getting better; I can feel the lingering darkness in the air."
"Thank you Aunt Kiwi," Alex said, smiling as he hung the spear over the dummy. "The dark isn't as wild as before, yet it almost seems like it doesn't want to be controlled...."
Kiwi sighed, shaking her head. "The Darkness doesn't work for a spawn of the Light. You of all people should know this."
Alex shrugged, walking up to Kiwi and letting her lead the way. "A spawn of the Light? Is it because-ah, I understand...."
Kiwi sighed, spotting a small girl in the distance at the edge of the clearing. "Oh come on, I just leave for one minute and now she's outside... Winx darn source." Looking up at Alex, she quietly added. "Don't tell your parents I said that in front of you." Before flapping her wings and shooting after her.
Snickering, Alex flapped his own wings. He could fly-not very high, and not very fast-but still fly(he remembered his mother praising him for learning so quickly. Apparently it took his dad a few hundred years to learn!).
But before he could even get off the floor, he was struck by a vision that came slamming in like a spear(Alex winced; not a good metaphor):
-FLASH-
A strange woman with black hair with a blue streak in it, talking to him about something. "Halt, child of darkness! It is not your time yet."
-FLASH-
Him and a white-haired man with a black streak in it facing each other in a large room that was gilded in gold and crafted out of marble.
-FLASH-
Riding a black scaly dragon, holding on his horns and with a girl holding his back for support.
-FLASH-
"And may I have the honor of knowing who saved my life?" The same girl asked, blue eyes sparkling with happiness and cheerful energy.
"-I am Al-"
-FLASH-
With a gasp, Alex woke up in a bed that he never gotten on.
"Alex! Thank Order your ok," Kiwi rushed over, looking relieved. "Oh, Ghost would've killed me if anything happened to you. What happened?"
"I-I had a series of visions... But I don't understand.... Why am I receiving them?"
~Raiden~
Raiden opened the door to the High Queen's meeting table, sword nestled safely on his scabbard and several knives in various hidden compartments in case of an attack(doesn't hurt to prepare).
He had braced himself, but there was a distinct lack of noise. "High Queen, my Lady. I have come with grave news...."
