-Eric Rodrigo-
After Rosie's little outburst last week when we visited her brother, I was a little nervous about leaving her with my parents, but mother assure me, she knew exactly how to handle Rose and if anything happened she would ring me instantly.
I had decided to do my communications course for psychology in San Francisco where Rosie should have been, but due to her attack I did not feel safe leaving her there alone...
"Baby you are going to be late" Rosie stated, bringing me away from my thoughts.
I looked at her face as she tried to show no emotion a side from happiness, but she was always terrible at lying.
I took in all her features down to the brown dot in her almost grey eyes, I would ask her about that one day.
"Are you sure you are going to be okay?" I asked, cupping her face and planting light kisses everywhere.
She laughed, "that's funny because last week you were the one reassuring me I was going to be fine here and besides Diego will be here for a few weeks anyway, so I won't be completely lonely" she explained, smiling up at me.
Just like myself Casey was also going to University, only she was going further away, she was doing a course in photography.
For some reason I wasn't comfortable with Diego being around Rosie the whole time I was away, they had this special bond and for some reason I felt jealous.
I guess this is where trust truly comes into action.
"Eric you need to get going, or you're going to be late" my mother finally jumped in.
"Please just look after my princess" I stated kissing my mum and returning back to Rosie, "and you sweet cheeks, don't go stressing out those bubs" I stated kissing her forehead whilst holding her tightly.
"Stay safe baby" she said as I walked out the door, I turned to look at her one last time and regretted it, the pain and loss she had in her eyes as if she was losing me, I hope these few weeks go by fast.
I stepped out the front and immediately ran into Diego.
"Good morning brother" he said with a grin.
"Morning, why are you so chirpy?" I asked.
He smiled, "lets just say I get to spend some quality time with my sister" he said with mischief in his voice.
"Listen here Diego, don't you dare do anything you will regret!" I warned.
He looked at me confused, "what are you talking about Eric?"
"Don't play dumb with me, you're planning something!" I stated.
He was still playing dumb, "unless you mean planning a wedding then I guess so" I looked at him confused.
"Wait, what?" I asked.
"The whole reason I'm here, is because Rosie wants mum and myself to help her plan the wedding, she was going to make it a surprise, but because your idiotic brain jumps to conclusions!" He stated angrily.
At that moment Rosie walked out, I looked at her stunned, "you're planning the wedding?" Blurted out, before I could shut up.
She groaned and glared towards Diego, "you told him!?" She asked.
"I had to, he was assuming the worst!" Diego admitted.
She gasped, "y-you don't trust me?" Was all she asked, looking hurt.
I felt horrible, guilt rushed over me, "no baby it wasn't that, I didn't trust Diego!" I admitted.
"To not trust one person Eric, you have to assume the other person is going to respond the same, therefore you don't trust me, well you know what Eric, I trust you knowing your going to University with a bunch of girls falling at your feet, but you can't trust me with your own brother!" She cried out.
I wish I could rewind, I did trust her and deep down I know he wouldn't do anything to betray me, he loved Casey..
Oh god I'm so stupid.
I zoned back in when I heard the door slam, Diego looked disappointed and furiously at me, "smooth move brother" he said, clenching his teeth.
"I can fix this!" I stated, walking into the house.
"I heard my mum banging on Rose's door, "Rosie let me in sweetie" she said, calmly.
I walked up to her and placed my hand on her shoulder, she jumped "what are you still doing here?" She asked.
"Fixing my wrongs" I stated.
She sighed and looked at me with regret, " don't you hurt her you hear me?" Was all she said, before walking away, not even waiting for an answer.
I turned towards Rosie's door and twisted the door knob, surprisingly it wasn't locked, I opened it slightly only to have a teddy come flying at my face.
"You're a real bastard, you know that?" She cried.
"And why's that?" I asked walking in slowly.
"Because no matter how much I try, how many times I stare down at this ring, or hold my babies I can't for the life of me hate you, or be mad at you, no more than I'm mad at myself" she explained.
A grin grew on my face, "don't go grinning yet mr, you still have a lot of trust to earn back" she stated.
My face dropped, "Rosie I'm so sorry okay, I panicked, for a split second I lost faith and yes believed I wasn't going to lose you Rosie, I can't lose you, I lost you once I refuse to go through that again, please I'm so sorry" I cried out, I hit the ground and brought my face into my hands as tears streamed down my face.
And that's when it hit me, I was missing Anita, I lost Rosie once and eventually I got her back that wasn't going to happen with Anita, I wasn't just going to see her on the side of the road she was fully gone, and Rosie was there to help me, protect me, reassure me I wasn't alone I couldn't lose her
At that minute I felt arms go around me, "hey, you haven't lost me baby, and you definitely won't lose me anytime soon, I also know this isn't fully about me, I think you have hit grieving point as well, but you know what Anita would be so proud of the man her big brother has become" she stated, pulling my face out of my hands to look at her.
Her face showed pain, regret and misery, she was missing her parents a lot more than I was missing Anita...
The amount of time I had with Anita, Rosie had with her parents.
I held her face in my hands, "how can I earn back your trust?" I asked.
She smiled sheepishly, "you never lost it baby, I just wanted you to understand that it hurts not to have someone's trust" she explained.
That little brown dot in her eye sparkled and I smiled, "why do you have this one brown dot in your blue eyes?" I asked, pulling her up to the bed.
She laughed, "it's not a brown dot, I'm guessing you have noticed it sparkles" she stated.
I nodded and looked at her in content, "yeah well when I was younger, Aunt Lola gave me a special diamond that went through my family, it was worth loads, well my brother went into a massive fit one night screaming 'I shouldn't keep it, because I didn't deserve it' cried stuff like, 'it was our fault' and 'we don't deserve something so precious' well while I was sitting on the ground with my dolls, my brother walked up and smashed the diamond on the ground right in front of me, this tiny piece came flying at me and inserted itself inside my eyes, doctors have asked if I want it removed, but I keep and always say I have a piece of mum and dad inside me" she explained.
I frowned at what Justin did but smiled at her, "I always told you, you were worth millions" I joked.
She laughed and looked at the time, "Eric you really need to go" she said.
I sighed, "I know, come on, come downstairs" I said, pulling her up off the floor, we walked down stairs happily and everything was okay in the world again.
