I hear a knock on my door at 6:00.
My mom opens it, since her 2nd job let her have the day off and she's home.
"Quinn it's for you!" She says. I rush down the stairs. I'm wearing the dress that Eric got me. I rush into the kitchen, where I see Eric wearing a white dress shirt and a black tie.
He wore black Vans. That mother fucker.
My mom stood there, excited. Her and Eric looked at each other and then looked at me.
"It's my Quinnie's first date!!" She said, excited. I blushed and mumbled, "Mom..." Eric smiled at me. "Alright. You guys should get going! I'll get the car started." My mom said as she got the keys from the table and put on her slippers. She walked out.
"Well you look gorgeous." Eric said as he walked towards me. I grinned.
"Come on guys. Let's get going." My mom said.

6:27 pm
I remember this night so vividly.
---
If I had to describe the Winter gala in 3 words, it would be easy. Really. Fucking. Lit.
I didn't think it would be that fun for me, since I don't listen to popular music, and all I listen to is Inside pop. Thankfully, our school is an indie bundle of joy. Sometimes though, I get used to some of the popular music they play. I sorta like it. I just don't listen to it.
Once my mom dropped us off at the school, I could spot Summer and Christine. Eric and I got out of the car and walked over to them.
"So," Summer said, nudging me with a strange smile spread onto her face, "are you and Eric a thing yet??"
Eric replied before I could.
"Actually, yes we are."
I blushed. Eric considered us a couple? Summer and Christine smiled at us. I never really talked to Christine that much. We don't have any classes together and she sits at another lunch table, but Summer and Christine are practically twins.
The four of us walked over to the school.

7:01 pm
you would think I would be bored by now but I'm actually having fun.
The music here is pretty nice.
7:46
I know this may sound cliche, but tonight was magical.
Here's what happened.
All Of Me by John Legend starting playing.
'god damn it I don-'
my thoughts got interrupted by Eric talking.
"Do you wanna go back to my place?"
I shrugged and asked why.
"You look like you're about to pass out. You're really pale..."
"Actually, now that you mention it, I'm actually getting kinda dizzy and tired. My mom went out for work, so she won't be home until later."
"C'mon, princess. Lets go."
The two of us said bye to our friends and walked home.
___
It was a cold night. Eric and I sat happily near the fireplace, cuddled up in warm blankets. I convinced him to watch Me and Earl and the Dying Girl with me, since I was feeling much better. Advil can really work well.
The two of us sat on what I thought was the most comfortable couch in the world, covered up by blankets and pillows. Outside of the house, you could hear the slight winds brushing against the creme colored shutters and the tall pine trees of Minnesota. My eyes slowly closed as I felt the soft beating of Eric's heart.
(hey guys. it's sophie. this will be the end of eric and quinn c: I hope you enjoyed it!)
