Before you ask I will tell you one thing, the zombie apocalypse sucks cantaloupes dick, But somehow I have found an amazing group to help me through the harsh environment for me and my son. Okay I grew up with six brothers so I do know how to take care of myself but one things for sure.. Once you have a baby mama bear is the first instinct instead of self defense.
It all started way before the out break happened. Warnings like cannibalism on the news and in the newspaper. Out of control people that've had to be put down. Crazy stories that made the world just seem.. Abnormal. My husband Nate surved as an Air Force technician on the aircraft. He was in-and-out, and all over. He enjoyed his job but that left me alone through pregnancy and the birth of our son.
We live in Georgia. Mostly the country part. We are known as rednecks out here. I love it! Well loved it.. It was peaceful and a great place for our son to grow up. Our son is two and that scared me when the out break happened.
We all went on little get always like hunting trips and stuff. It was great. Then my husband had to leave again. Then the outbreak happened. I was alone then crazy flashing happened on the tv saying evacuations I'm not sure it was all kinda a blur. I grabbed my son and as much stuff as I could packed it in the car and headed to where I thought was safe.
Boy, was I wrong. I watched from the car in horror as I see people covered in blood and their faces were torn. They looked like numbered hobos with their clothes slashed. Their eyes were glazed over. They did not look human. I made a split eye contact with one and I stopped breathing. It ran towards the car as fast as it could and I did the same but I pressed the gas pedal. I just kept driving till I almost hit a young man. He looked Asian?....Chinese?.... No definitely Korean. He had the same look on my face but I had been driving for days and he looked familiar with the main city.
He told me to pull into this ally way and he shut this gate behind me. Still shaking and in shock I didn't know what to think. I kept my eyes on my baby through the rear vein mirror. I hear Dylan roll he does that When he sleeps. All I did was breath and I got lost in thought.
Nate!! How is he getting home I left and I can't get ahold of him! Fuck god damn it!! I punched the steering wheel and that boy knocked on the window scaring me. I jumped and held in a scream. I unlocked the door and opened it slowly.
"Okay we don't have much time before they find us back here! I can tell you aren't from around here. The outbreak has happened and these... Things are eating people." He said.
"Yeah I can see that!" I said a bit more rude and sarcastic as I ment it. "Sorry.."
"It's okay I understand. I have a group it's not a lot but I can tell you'd be good use." the zombies moans and groans got louder. "There isn't much time!! if you wouldn't mind I would like a ride." He sad nudging his head towards the car.
I nodded and he went towards the gate. "Get in the car I'll jump in when I close it okay!" He said. I did as the little man said. He looked my age. Maybe a bit younger. 27 is still pretty... Getting old. I turned on the car and I watched him open the gate. He jumped into the back seat and I started to drive.
"Woah you have a kid?" He asked. I nodded trying not to cry. Everything is just so overwhelming right now.
