Chapter 17: Artemis comes to visit

Marcey's p.o.v.

I sighed as I packed my things. Apollo was being a winey brat because I had to take a trip. I was doing my best not to slap him. The last time I slapped him Will came over and gave me a lecture on hitting people.

"Why can't I come??" He wined.

"Because it's at the Roman camp! And I can barely handle this version of you! I highly doubt the Roman one will be better!"

For some reason he didn't respond. I turned back to see him holding a arrow. But he wasn't holding it normally it was like he caught it. Then I realized that he looked completely different.

I could feel the change in his personality, it was a complete 180 from what it normally was. Even his expression was different.

"Apoll-"

"Marcey get a weapon."

I quickly picked up the new sword I had just gotten. It appeared right after I had spoken with Hades. I found it on my bed when I got back from practice. I grabbed the shield that the Hephaestus cabin had made for me.

I ran out of my cabin only to have a few more arrows aimed at me. I out up my shield and blocked them. Suddenly a girl came at me and swung her bow at me. I recognize her immediately.

"Alyssa?!"

She shoved me backwards and I swung my shield at her knocking her down. She was on the ground and I pointed my sword at her throat.

"What do you want?" I asked, I'm surprised I could even speak. It had been about a year since I had seen her but looking at her still made me want to sob.

She glared at me "I want revenge! You! You almost ruined everything!"

I tightened my grip in my sword and slightly lowered my sword so that the tip of it was almost against her neck.

"I, did nothing. You on the other hand." I stopped talking so I wouldn't cry. I took a breath "You broke my heart with no remorse. You left me wishing I had never been born! You hurt a lot of people. And you hurt me. But I have never not once sought revenge. So whatever I did to you can not be worth revenge."

I backed away from her and let her stand. Apollo was now by my side watching her as she stood.

She glared at Apollo "you should be glade that you have a God sitting on your shoulder protecting you! If you didn't you'd be dead."

Suddenly a hand was on her shoulder and she froze. I recognize the person who the hand belonged to.

I looked at Artemis and bowed. "Artemis."

Artemis laughed "Hello Marcey, I see you've befriend my brother."

I looked at Apollo, he was no longer paying the conversation any attention. He was picking at his nails to avoid eye contact with his sister.

"What are you doing her Artemis?"

She smiled "Well I wanted to see how you were doing, and I heard of some girls wanting to join the Hunter's of Artemis." She then looked at Apollo. "I also wanted to see my brother."

Apollo looked up "Oh hey sis, didn't see you there."

Artemis rolled her eyes "You still think your funny Apollo."

I rolled my eyes, I don't think she knew the half of it.

*time skip to later*

My trip was postponed due to Artemis coming to visit. And because of the crazy bitch who tried to kill me.

Apollo looked at me "What was that all about with that girl?"

I sighed and sat down. I was wondering when he would ask. "She's an ex of mine. And let's just say we didn't break on the best of terms."

"What happened?"

"We dated for a month of two. I really really liked her to. But I think she only liked me cause I bought her things. When we broke up she didn't even tell me that we were through. Just silence. I didn't hear a word from her for two weeks. When I finally got her to talk to me she went on and on about how she hated me."

I felt my hands turn to fists on the ground. Whenever I thought about Alyssa it made me want to sob.

Suddenly I felt a hand on my head. I looked up and saw Apollo resting his hand on my head.

He yawned "Boring! That's a cliche story. And besides you were just a kid not like you were going to find true love! And so what she didn't speak to you, your better off with out her anyways!"

I smiled "Thanks Apollo."

Suddenly Maria ran at me "Marcey introduce me to Artemis!!"

*time skip to Artemis*

I sighed as I knocked on the cabin door. Maria really wanted to meet Artemis had since the first day of camp.

A Huntress opened the door. "Yes may I help you?"

"I've got a friend who wants to me Artemis."

"If its the boy who makes animals out of vines tell him she doesn't want a Alpaca bush."

I sighed "No it's not Alfie, it's my friend Maria."

She looked at Maria and nodded letting us in.

Maria and I walked over to where Artemis was.

"Artemis this is Maria. Maria Artemis."

Artemis stood and Maria bowed.

"This is so cool finally getting to meet you! You've always been my favorite goddess!"

Artemis laughed "Thank you Maria. Is that all you came to say?"

She shook her head "No I would like to join the Hunters of Artemis please!"

Artemis raised and eyebrow and said "Are you sure? Your have to give up dating forever?"

Maria rolled her eyes dryly said "Oh no the horror "

Artemis laughed "I like this one!"

I left Maria to discuss the whole Hunter of Artemis thing. Well I hope she's happy with whatever she does.
