Chapter 2 : Girl Gossip

After that lame assassination attempt, Nakamura asked for me to get a drink for her. In which I did, one pineapple juice for her and one (favorite fruit) juice for myself. I yawned and wiped my eyes with my right arm, that was occupied with Nakamura's drink. Passing through the room where the boys are, I heard footsteps coming my way and I slightly turned around to see a certain red head with mercury eyes and a lazy-but-oh-so-amused grin. I quickly turned back to the front in attempt to avoid him from noticing me.

"Yo, (Y/n)-chan," he said.

Goddamnit, this sadistic bastard. I turned around with a slightly forced (but convincing) smile.

"Hey, Karma-kun," I said.

"What are you doing here?", he said questionably.

"Nakamura-san asked me to get a drink for her," I explained.

"Is that so...", he said, his words trailing off.

"... Or is it that you came here to see me?", he continued, teasingly.

He flashed his signature devil-like smile, while I flashed him my 'bitch, really?' expression. Seeing my face, he just chuckled in response and said "Chill, (Insert teasing nickname here)-chan. I'm just joking~"

He waved and greeted me good bye as he walked into the room with the rest of the boys. I sighed under my breath as he left and took a few sips from my drink. I'd hate to admit it, but I liked this guy— no— loved him. You can't blame me. The guy's a pretty handsome fellow, not to mention that he's a rich boy and has a somewhat 'chill' personality.

I continued walking away to go to the room with the rest of the girls, who are probably gossiping the hell out of everything. Until...

"Great timing, Karma-kun."

"Are you interested in anyone?"

Hearing this coming out of a few of the boys, I sprinted backwards to where they were and sneakily put my ear on the wall in order to hear their conversation. I gently placed Nakamura's juice box on the floor in order to get a better hearing of their conversation. This may be a bad thing to do, but hey— it doesn't hurt to provide good gossip for the girls to talk about. I mean, even if it's mostly Karma we're talking about, it would be interesting to know who he likes... Right? My curiosity seemed like it was eating me alive.

"Hmm....."

Oh my god, Karma.

I took a sip of my drink, waiting for his damned response.

"Okuda-san, I think."

"That's interesting. Why—"

Hearing this, I nearly spat out my drink and began coughing loud enough for all the boys to hear.

"Did you guys hear that?", asked Nagisa in concern.

They nodded and started asking each other who might've coughed. I gasped in surprise and realized that they were onto me. I ran behind one of the walls away from the boys' room (so fast sanic be jealous ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)) and covered my mouth with my eyes widened. I heard a pair of footsteps exit the room.

"There's no one here," said a voice that sounded like Sugino.

"Must be the girls," concluded Maehara.

They were all convinced with the conclusion that the girls may have been the culprit of the situation, but did not decide to go further into the investigation. This gave a relief to me, as I continued to try to hear their conversation.

As if on cue, I came on the part where a guy asked Karma why he liked Okuda.

"She looks like she can invert obscure medicines, chloroform, and other weapons."

Geez, what a scary dude. Well, what he said is pretty much a relief for me, since it seems how he's not serious about liking Okuda. I sighed in relief, hearing those words. Satisfied with the intel I received, I walked back to the room. So much chatter and gossip was heard all across the room, until the girls heard my footsteps enter the room. They all stared at me like I was crazy or something. I sweat dropped because of this, confused on what was going on.

"What took you so long, (L/n)-chan?", asked Kayano in concern.

"Oh, I just got mine and Nakamura's drink and just happened to passed by on the boys' conversation," I explained as all the girls scooted closer to me to hear my story.

"Oi, (L/n)-chan?", said Okano as if I forgot something.

I faced towards her and let out a "hm?" in response.

"Before you say anything...", she continued, "Where's Nakamura-san's drink?"

I gasped and realized that I had left it on the floor in order to get better hearing of what they were saying. I told them that I left it in disappointment and apologized to Nakamura. She playfully hit my shoulder and said not to worry about it. Nakamura was in fact my best friend out of all the girls in the classroom. To my surprise, she even agreed to keep my crush on Karma a secret. I pretty much told all the girls about the 'crush list' the boys have been passing around and they were somewhat upset that I didn't see much of what the list said, since I was mainly listening to what they were saying instead of actually looking at what the list had. They eventually brushed it off, though.

Whispering in my ear, Nakamura asked, "What about Karma-kun? Did he say who he liked?"

I frowned at this question, remembering on how he said he liked Okuda out of all of us. However, he never really talked to any of the girls anyway... besides Okuda and I, of course. I pretty much sat right next to him, so we would have short conversations about different kinds of things. Sometimes I'd drop my pencil or eraser and he'd pick it up. Yeah, our relationship wasn't all that.

"He said he liked Okuda," I said in a quiet tone, quiet enough for only Nakamura to hear and not the others. Nakamura made a sort of sad smile while hearing this, since she knew how much I liked him. She patted me on the back and had her other hand on her chin, making a sort of thinking expression.

"Tough love," she said in response.

(Regular Narration)

Little did (H/c) haired (Y/n)-chan know,

She had a storm coming for her and Karma after the trip.

[A/N: This is a really old ass book. I don't know why. I thought I published this, but realized that it hadn't been once i checked my drafts again? Oh well. Sorry I haven't been posting much. I know it's been awhile and I've got a lot of books that I left unsolved. I don't know if I'll ever go back to them again, but I might even plan on getting another account so I can start fresh again. I plan on making NDRV3 and possibly Persona fanfics in the future. I have a few drafts that are still left undone to this day, but they were concepts I found interesting. If I figure something else out, maybe I'll pick up on the chapters I started but never finished on other books. Thank you all for giving me a hella lot of reads and votes.
