Long ago, when Empyreus slew Akriloth, the Great Dragon of Time, so as to allow his creations to live within his greatest creation, Sordestia, he used each part of Akriloth to supply his creations with something great. With the scales of Akriloth, he created the metals and rocks. With the beasts meat, the great animals of the world were formed. With the bone and blood, he created two artifacts. A sacred armor, and an hourglass, whom some say contains the very soul of Akriloth as well. The final gifts were a sword made of Akriloth's very fiery breath, albeit crystallized to show both beauty and destruction. However, only true and strong warriors may wield it, for it burns with Akriloth's very lifeblood. The last gift was his own bloodline, which formed itself into a long line of great heroes. These were the men and women who fought for a specific cause, protecting the normal people whom could not protect themselves. However, there are those that have taken up arms still, wielding blade or magic, and yet knowing the danger. All have a different reasoning for such acts, but all share a common goal. These are the people we shall follow in this story. These are the people that shall inspire others to join the call.
