When Ausar came into the world of Sordestia, it was a surprise, for the Cleric whom had overseen his birth doubted the success immensely. When he was born, he soon took the name of one of his forefathers. "He shall be named Ausar! For the heavens have aligned in our favor this glorious day!", his father, Ousir, had exclaimed. As soon as he could walk with ease, Ausar was trained by his father to battle with pride and honor. Ausar practically despised all weapons but his father's. He begged Ousir to allow him to use his mighty greatsword, but the answer was always the same; "You shall wield this blade in time, Son."
Upon reaching his teen years, Ausar discovered his love for a fair maiden whom borne the name of Elize. He had impressed her multiple times, but to no avail. For Elize's hand had been won by Ausar's childhood rival, Goralt. He had wished much for a sword to challenge Goralt with. However, his father soon offered counsel, saying; "A man's strongest weapon is not the sword. It is, in fact, his willingness to give up that which he cares for." And thus, Ausar allowed the fair maiden Elize to prosper with her true lover. He knew he would soon find another force to drive him. Many months later, it was upon the day of his birthday that he received a gift from his father and mother. A greatsword and a garb with which he could withstand several blows to his torso. His mother warned him, however; "Ausar! You mustn't become under the impression that you are naught but invincible whilst wearing this, for albeit it was woven with my love, it shan't protect you from the mightiest attacks.."
Upon reaching the age of 22, and Ausar's blade had broken upon the door of a crypt, Ousir passed his blade unto his son, for he had no use for it, and he did not and could not fight any longer. "My son. Come hither, I have tidings to share.", Ousir spoke, motioning his son, who had now reached adulthood to come to him. "What is it you have called me here for, Father? Of what nature are these tidings? Good?", Ausar replied thusly. His father adjusted himself whilst in bed, and sat up, then speaking, "I have not been honest with you, my child. You have the powers of the Ascended Elementals.. You fell in the water as a child, and repelled the waves from around you. Your powers have grown since. But do not make any mistake! Your power may be unstable.. You must find another one like you and learn. I shall supply you with my sword, but please do be careful..."
Ausar embraced his father, then headed out to find another Ascended Elemental. He soon found two travelers, a young man from the island of Norn, and an elf whom had escaped the tyrrany of Aira'dahn, his homeland. They exchanged words, and Ausar told his story. And soon the two travelers told their tale as well.
