The Story of Mark and Friends

Meeting Jon and Ben

It was a warm summer day, and 5-year old Mark was looking out the window. His mom told him that a neighbor of theirs the Washington's where bringing over their kids to play with Mark. He was so happy to see his new friends he couldn't stop looking at the window in hopes to see who they were and what did they look like.

"Mommy! When will they be here!?" Mark yelled. Mark's mom, Darcy came over and smiled putting a hand on her son's shoulder.

"Mark I know you're excited, but they'll be here soon I promise you." She explained.

Mark sighed. "Okay." Mark kept looking at the window from time to time waiting to see his new friends. After what seemed like forever, or incase an hour there was a knock on the door.

Mark got excited and ran to the door standing next to his mom. "I'm so excited!" He cheered. When his mom opened the door, Mark's eyes widen as he saw a boy with long caramel blonde hair and hazel eyes. The kid also wore a blue hoodie and brown shorts.

"Hi Darcy." Mrs. Washington said smiling.

"Hello Summer." Darcy replied. "This is my son Mark, he's 5-years old."

Summer kneeled down and put her hands on Ben's shoulders. "And this here is my son Benjamin, and his brother." She stopped when she saw her other son was missing. She smiled when she saw that her other son was behind a tree. "Come on Jonathon."

Jonathon shook his head. Summer gave him a look in hopes he would make a friend instead of spending time with his brother Benjamin too much. After a minute of getting Jonathon he finally decided to go see Mark.

"This is my other son Jonathon he's a bit shy, but a little sweetheart." Summer explained. Jonathon looked down and pulled his red hoddie over his face.

"Don't worry about my brother Mark. He'll open up." Benjamin said.

"Okay." Mark replied. Even though he was 5, he felt something weird when he saw Ben, it was like love almost. Jonathon and Benjamin went inside the house.

"Well I better get going. I'll see you two later." Summer gave her sons a kiss and left. Jonathon felt nervous and looked at the window seeing his mom leave.

"Bye. Mommy." Jonathon whispered.

Benjamin grabbed his brother and gave him a small hug. "Don't worry Johnny mommy will be back soon. In the meantime let's play with Mark." Benjamin said.

"Well...Okay." Jonathon whispered. Benjamin smiled and took Jonathon to a table where Mark was putting paper and crayons on. The three boys sat down, and Mark and Benjamin were the only two people drawing. Jonathon was nervous, but decided to draw a picture as well.

"So what school are you going to?" Mark asked.

"Moon Elementary." Benjamin replied.

Mark smiled. "No way! I'll be going there as well." Mark said with a smile.

Benjamin smiled. "Did you hear that John! Mark will go to the same school as us!" Benjamin cheered.

"Y-yeah." Jonathon said nervously. Benjamin rubbed his brother's back to comfort him.

"Is your brother okay?" Mark asked.

"Yeah. Sorry Mark, Jonathon has mild anxiety disorder, so he'll always be like this." Benjamin explained.

"Its okay." Mark replied. Benjamin smiled and continued his drawing. Mark looked at Ben's drawing and saw it was he, Jon, and Ben smiling and holding hands. "That's really good."

"Thank you." Benjamin replied with a smile. Mark smiled back, and decided to finish his drawing, which was Benjamin smiling. Mark then pushed the paper near Ben, which confused him.

"Its for you. Since you're my best friend." Mark said.

Benjamin was surprised. He never had a best friend before and smiled seeing Mark smile and the picture. "Thanks Mark."

"Your welcome Ben." Mark smiled.

"A-Am I-I your friend too?" Jon asked in a small whisper.

"Of corse you are Jonny!" Mark cheered giving Ben's brother a hug. Jon was nervous at first but hugged Mark back.

"Hey Mark?" Ben asked.

"Yeah?" Mark replied.

"Can we play outside?" Ben asked.

"Sure!" He replied. The three boys stopped drawing and ran outside to go play.
