Around three this morning Jimin wakes up. Not to get ready for school or to finish the rest of his calculus homework -it's only just three more problems so he's not too worried about it- Jimin wakes up this Tuesday morning to go stock up shelves and working the register at the convenience store just around block near the small salon his mother used to run. He tries to be quiet so he doesn't wake up his sleeping cousin in the next room and feeds his fish before grabbing his clothes and going to the bathroom.
While Jimin washes his face, his neighbor after the second column of apartments and two small homes, Jungkook is just now coming home from a small party his friend hosted to celebrate the end of midterms, or at least that was the original purpose of it. Instead it just turned out to be a night of drinking and singing terrible karaoke with his friends and his girlfriends friends. Jungkook's throat was beyond sore and raw from screaming and yelling pop lyrics; which wasn't good for him because he had a oral presentation in literature over an English work called Macbeth. To compensate for his throat he reaches into his father's medicine drawer and takes some cough medicine and sucks on a lozenge afterwards.
He knew he probably wasn't going to get enough sleep before having to wake up for school around six but he also knows he can skip his study in homeroom and just arrive at school around eight so he wouldn't miss his morning lessons. He shrugged away his thoughts and stripped to his boxers and picked up a t-shirt off his floor. Jungkook looks at the clock reading its almost three thirty before setting the alarm for seven then flopping into his bed and scooting close to the cooler wall.
Jimin is clocking into work around this time. Thankfully this time on his walk there he didn't run into any drunk people wandering their way home, which he wasn't surprised by because who goes out on Mondays? he thought. He waves at the older lady that runs the cash register and says a small good morning while smiling at her. She smiles back but doesn't say a greeting back to him because of the lack of sleep causing her to be tired and Jimin understood that so he wasn't bothered by it. He went to the back of storage room and grabbed some chips and ramen bowls that needed to be restocked onto the shelves closest to the entrance. It seems like nobody ventures to the back of the store to get an egg for the ramen or cheep sashimi anymore because it looked the way he had left it the previous morning. He sighs and checks the microwave to make sure nobody blew up a tomato and left it like last time, they hadn't, thankfully, and continued cleaning counters.
Looking over at the register he sees the older lady had left and that means his shift is almost over. He grabbed the broom and dustpan from a cupboard behind the check out counter and began swiping the three aisles; whilst doing this he thought about the last couple questions he had left to do for his calculus homework and went over his oral presentation for literature. He turned to look at the clock on the wall and saw it that he had only a little over a half an hour before going home and getting ready for school.
Jungkook wasn't getting much sleep, which wasn't the problem though, he just kept constantly waking up and falling back to sleep. Every now in then he'd flip his pillow or shift to a different area on his bed. It was getting all too annoying for him. It wasn't the first night that this has happened though, it's been about three weeks since the last time he fell asleep at night and actually woke up the next morning feeling rested. He didn't know why this kept happening, could it be insomnia? , he would continuously think every time he woke up. That question kept appearing in his mind throughout his morning classes. No it couldn't be its probably just the bed. Which was a possibility, he's had the same bed since well forever it seemed.
Jungkook finally gave up on trying to sleep, even though if he tried he could get another two hours in. He'll just stop by the convenience store and get a energy drink then come back home and get ready for school. He looked back at his clock and sighed. He's still there isn't he? Gosh, couldn't he work on the weekends or something? He knew the kid from school would be there. He knew that kid worked there on Tuesday's early in the morning. It's not that Jungkook hated the guy, he just thought he was kind of strange and he tries to make conversation with him while he's paying at the register.
