Sunday was work day. Arabella didn't want to go to her work in a nearby café. All she had to do was to take orders, make coffee, and probably smell like coffee. But of course, she needed a job to earn some money.BEEP BEEP BEEP the alarm clock went. Arabella rolled on to the other side of the bed and turned off her clock. She checked the time and it was 8:30 AM. "Ugh," she groaned, "I still don't understand why I'm doing this job." She said as she stuffed her face with a pillow. She soon got up and got ready for work. She went downstairs, kissing her mom in the cheek as she hurried out the door, running to the nearby cafe as she tied her apron around her waist.
"You're late again, Miss Mackenzie." The manager of the cafe said. "You do know what happens when you're late for the third time." She crossed her arms. "I know. I'm sorry." Arabella said and rushed to her counter, tying her hair to a ponytail as quick as she could. "Oh boy, this will be a looong day." She mumbled to herself.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
It was 10 AM, and the cafe was almost full. Arabella was on her fifteen minute break and she was just drinking her favorite iced coffee in the cafe. She was just looking at everyone having a small talk with everyone else. She was thinking what was it like to have an actual talk with someone, what was it like to hang out with someone, what was it like to —"Ms? Hey, ms?" A voice interrupted her thoughts. She shook her head and looked up to the stranger. The stranger looked clueless, as if that person was a lost puppy. "I-I'm assuming you work here, so are there any seats available in the cafe?" He asked, running his fingers through his hair. Now, Arabella Mackenzie was sure she knew him from somewhere, but she just couldn't remember. Hmm.
"O-Oh, um, you could sit here," she said as she stood up from her chair. "Sorry, I was just taking a quick break."
"Oh, that's okay. Do I... Never mind." He shook his head and sat down. "Thank you." He smiled sweetly.
Arabella made a puzzled face, but shook it off. She knew she saw that guy before. Those blue eyes and jet black hair, although it looked like his roots are coming back, were very familiar. And that sweet smile was so–
"Arabella! Your break is over!" The manager called her. Arabella sighed and rushed to the counter once again. She had to talk to him soon. Not now, but soon.
