Bloodpaw remember Stormpaw, his gaze locking on her's. She had heard him call her name over and over, weaving through clan cats to try and get to her. But Bloodpaw left as quickly as she could, she couldn't believe it was her brother.

She woke the next morning, yawning clamorously. Cloudygaze arrived at her side, a vole hanging from his mouth.

"I brought you some prey," He announced as he dropped the vole at her paws.

Bloodpaw glanced up and met his gaze, which was fogged and dark. "How did you become blind," She asked curiously.

"I was blind at birth," Cloudygaze answered,"They named me Cloudykit not only after my pelt, but my foggy eyes."

"Did you ever want to be a warrior?"

Cloudygaze nodded and sighed quietly,"It was my dream, although I was blind. But the leader at that time, Yellowstar, made sure I was made a medicine cat apprentice. She said that I had disadvantages that would only get me killed in battle. My brother, Sparrowpaw, went on the become a warrior apprentice. Soon enough, he was injured in a battle with RiverClan. I tried to heal him..I tried to stop the blood..but I couldn't save him in time."

Bloodpaw felt sympathy for her mentor and lay her tail on his shoulder. "I have no disadvantages at all, and Birdstar made me medicine cat apprentice," Bloodpaw started, spitting out the leaders name,"I would've loved to be a warrior."

"You will be a warrior," Cloudygaze blind eyes met hers,"Birdstar may think your fine being a medicine cat apprentice but your not. I see the determination in your eyes not to heal, but to fight alongside your clan mates."

Bloodpaw felt hope spark in her eyes as her mentor went on,"All you have to do is prove yourself...."

Later that day, the sun shone fully over the moor. Bloodpaw was sent out by Cloudygaze to collect herbs 'for the last time', he had said.

Bloodpaw padded across the moor, nearing the RiverClan border. The border had evolved over many moons, meaning it became a immense gorge. The water crashed below and roared loudly. Bloodpaw winced as she spotted it.

She scanned the gorge, spotted the fallen tree that led to the other side. Bloodpaw padded over to the start of the tree trunk, examining it. Moss was laying upon the tree, Bloodpaws eyes widened in success.

Grabbing the moss with her teeth, she lay it down on the ground in front of her. Bloodpaw pressed her paws lightly down on the moss, water leaking from it. She carefully removed her paws and grabbed the moss in her jaws again.

Time to get this back to camp. I may not have collected any herbs, but this will be great for the elders!

Suddenly, voices from on the tree interrupted her thoughts. "This tree will give us great escort to the WindClan side of the border during the attack. We just have to make sure to not have many warrior on it at a time."

Bloodpaws ears perked and she quickly crouched behind the tree trunk. She peered around, spotting Redstar standing beside her deputy Whitetooth.

"We'll teach WindClan a lesson for invading on our side of the border," Whitetooth growled, sliding his claws along the fallen trees soft bark.

Redstar nodded and turned to her deputy. "The attack shall be tomorrow, and we'll attack at the wake of dawn. We must prepare our cats tonight and make sure they receive great sleep so we can attack tomorrow morning."

"Won't WindClan have a morning patrol out by then," Whitetooth tilted his head.

Redstar met his gaze and shook her head,"No, we will come before they send the patrol. We'll ambush their camp and steal some prey, show them that if they want to steal prey from our territory, we can do the same."

Whitetooth turned and followed the RiverClan leader back onto RiverClan territory. Bloodpaw scrambled to her paws, her eyes were full moons. I have to warn WindClan!

Bloodpaw raced into WindClan camp, running into Hawkswoop who stood beside the fresh-kill pile.

"Sorry," She squeaked, wincing.

Hawkswoop sidestepped in front of her the moment Bloodpaw tried to race back off. "Why are you in such a rush?"

I guess I can tell him. I mean, he is deputy, and Birdstar won't listen to me at all. "I overheard Redstar and her deputy speaking at the log over the gorge," Bloodpaw breathed out, her breathing heavy from her running. "They plan on ambushing WindClan camp tomorrow before the sun rises!"

Hawkswoops eyes narrowed and he beckoned Bloodpaw away with his tail. Bloodpaw followed, her paws seemed to become heavy as she realized her was taking her to Birdstars den.

She slowly stepped in after Hawkswoop. Her eyes rest upon the silhouette of Birdstar, which emerged from the shadows. The WindClan leaders eyes glowed with hatred as they caught Bloodpaws gaze.

"What is it this time?"

"Bloodpaw has overheard a conversation with Redstar and Whitetooth at the border. RiverClan is supposed to be ambushing WindClan camp in the early morning," Hawkswoop retorted.

Birdstar took in a long, profound breath then growled,"They won't do so. Ill be sure to have WindClan prepared. The moment they step onto our territory, our cats will rise from the hills and strike them at the border instead."

Her gaze then switched over to Bloodpaw. "Thank you Bloodpaw, if this battle is won, it will all be thanks to you," Bloodpaws eyes lit in surprise as the leader continued on,"I will allow you to fight in the battle, and if you fight bravely, I will make you a warrior apprentice..."
