When I was younger, my grandpa had an old clock. He never let it stop and was always winding it. He told me that when the clock stopped he'd die. I never believed that. Well, up until the clock did stop. He was found dead the minute it stopped ticking.
My father inherited the clock from my grandfather. He wasn't superstitious and thought the death of his father was pure coincidence. There was no way that a clock could predict when you died just by it stopping, he'd tell me. I ended up believing him. Oddly enough, when the clock stopped working almost two decades later, he died. At this point I started to believe what my grandpa was saying. I destroyed the clock and bought a new one. Hopefully, this won't continue with all my clocks. But then again I haven't wound the new clock in a while, and I have been feeling ill lately.
