*pic of Nathan Summers

I couldn't seem to sleep on the flight, so I just sat back and tried to entertain myself as best as I could. I realized that I had a book in my bag and I got it out and began to read The Longest Ride. Around three my stomach starts to growl.

"Did you eat breakfast or lunch?" Nathan asked in that annoying snappy tone.

"No I didn't, I was trying to run away from this annoying prick I met today. Maybe you know him, he looks like you?" I say turning to him as I close my book.

"Here. Find something to eat," Nathan says as he slaps a menu into my hand. He waves down a flight attendant while I look at the menu. The woman comes over and starts batting her eyes and smiling at Nathan. He smirks back and I look up and say, "I want a cheese burger with just ketchup, fries, and a lemonade please."

She frowns and says, "Ok. Anything for you sir?" She looks back at Nathan and smiles that awful smile again.

"No thank you, I'm good," Nathan says as he smirks and looks the flight attendant up and down. I reach over to hand her the menu and "accidentally" smack him in the face in the process.

"Oh, goodness I'm sooooo sorry I didn't mean to do that," I say to Nathan smirking at him. The flight attendant leaves with the menu as Nathan huffs and glares at me.

"You know I could of gotten her number if you hadn't of done that," Nathan says like that shouldn't of bothered me.

"Look you prick, the only reason I'm here is because you paid my parents to marry me. So just so we are clear if I have to be in this arrangement you will not be dating anyone." I can't believe he just tried that. That's so disrespectful. No wonder he had to pay someone to marry him.

"Just so you know. I'm only in this because my dad threatened to take away my position if I didn't marry. He said he didn't care how it happened, just as long as I had a wife in a month. That month ends in two weeks, which is when we will be getting married." Nathan has this smug look on his face and I still have no idea how he got stuck with me.

I don't say anything back to him, I can't believe he went about it this way or that he ripped me from my family, friends, and my hometown just to keep his position. About five minutes later the flight attendant came with my tray of food.

I began to eat as slow as I could even though I was really hungry. I didn't want to give him anything else to complain about. I see Nathan lean over and reach for something  in his carry on bag.

"Here read this and sign," Nathan says as he plops what looks like a contract into my lap. As I pick it up I see that it is a contract.

On the first page I see a paragraph explaining how this is a contract marriage. Below it is a list of conditions he apparently expects.
"1. Emma Ryan's parents receive one hundred thousand dollars the first five years after being married to Nathan Summers.
2. Emma Ryan and Nathan Summers will sleep in the same bedroom once married.
3. Emma Ryan will have an unlimited supply of money throughout these years of marriage, to do with as she pleases.
4. Emma Ryan will dress appropriately for her new title and will act as expected and attend all events with Nathan Summers.
5. Emma Ryan will produce at least one heir for Nathan Summers.
6. There will be no way of getting out of said marriage as long as both live.
7. Both Emma Ryan and Nathan Summers have the opportunity to date as they please."
