Once upon a time, deep in all dreams, hid a humble child. Now, this child wasn't any ordinary child. He cowered from everyone in the real world. His insight on life was frowned upon, unwanted. So, this boy was banished. Buried away in the dreams of anyone who was divergent to real life.

In the dreams, he was granted the ability to canter through the minds of those who were open to fantasy. The boy was used to wandering unaided, though he knew he was never truly alone.

When banished away to The Land Of Nod, the King promised the boy he would be lonesome, yet would always have a feel of vigilance. The boy became disheartened by this, and vowed that he would find ways to keep himself prudent.

As years passed, the boy built himself a castle, suited to fit a whole army, for he knew one day he would need one. The walls were made of gems found immersed in the thicket of the woods. At night they became frigid, so he created a furnace in each dominant sweep. The ceilings were immense and free to light. In Nod, light came when night would fall for all those in the factual world.

So, as people lived life and carried on, the boy slept. Sleeping though, did not come as it did for the others. Once the boy's eyes sealed, his mind was haunted by the agonizing reminders of being abandoned.

As yet, that wasn't the boys only punishment. Age did not occur to him through the years he spent there. As he would become attached to an individuals dreams, they became too old to dream of him anymore. So the boy was forced into a new generation. Contrived to wander within delusions, his personality started to change.

The boy couldn't remember what it was to laugh. Smile. Even the thought of happiness seemed unreal.  Anger, frowns, and sorrow was all that filled his mind as he continued years on years end seemingly alone. Knowing that he couldn't die , he decided to learn the best ways to stay stable.

He would enter the dreams of others, and, as dangerous as it was, would talk to them. No, none of them could ever hear the boy, but it gave him the feel of company.

So that's what he would do. During the day, the boy would cower in terror until nightfall came. Once the first began to dream, he would make friends with the people in his mind. Talking to them and carrying on conversations as if they were answering.

Until one day, someone did.
