The Now

Chapter 3: The Lot

Jed's POV
I catch Sabrina and she falls forward. I sit down and pull her onto my lap.
"Sabrina? Sabrina! Please wake up, please!" I know she won't respond. 'God! I'm so stupid! I let her stand up, I made her fall into the bush. I keep hurting her! I should've never shouted Rion's name. Rion is so... so... Wait where is Rion?' I look up and I move my head from side to side and they finally catch something walking towards us. It's Rion... great.
"Jed!" She shouts. I don't answer I just look down at Sabrina. 'She's so beautiful, even more beautiful than Mt. Kilimanjaro's scenic picture. Her dark brown, almost black, hair that shines a perfect brown in the light. Her face is just so perfect, not a flaw to be seen. Her eyes... Her eyes shine a beautiful light color of purple. Purple, I guess it's suppose to be blue, but purple is better. It's not normal how beautiful she looks, but then again Sabrina isn't normal. It's a good thing, not a bad thing. When she smiles she doesn't just smile..., She smiles at her eyes. When I see her... she makes my heart melt. I just want to kiss her. When I see her in pain I just break. Never went to see her in pain... Never.'
"Jed?"
I look up and I see Rion crouching in front of me.
"Hey, is sh-"
"Don't talk to me."
"Jed com-"
"This is your fault!"
"How'd I know she was hurt?"
"You just have to pick fights with everyone you meet!"
"I was tryin to protect you an-"
"PROTECT ME?!? PROTECT ME FROM WHAT?!?" I shout angrily.
"Shut up, you'll attract the Biters!"
"I should have never saved you." I mutter under my breath.
"What?"
"Nothing." I shrug my shoulders.
"Okay, I know you're mad at me, but think of Sabrina. She's gonna die out here."
"Why do you care?"
"I really don't..." I look up at her. "But if she means a lot to you I'll help you, not her."
"Where are we gonna go?"
"To the Lot."
"No."
"Jed, I know what happened sucked, but think of Sabrina." Rion explains. I sit there trying not to lose my temper. I look down at Sabrina. I have to do it for her, not me.
"Where's the Lot?"
"If the Lot is still there than its by the library."
"Alright." I move Sabrina to the ground. I stand up and pick her right back up. I start walking with Rion following right by me.
