Chapter 2: The Fight

The owner of the scream belonged to a girl, a girl running for her life.

"RION!" Jed shouts. The girl looks towards us, she changes direction and starts running towards us. She has about 15-20 Biters after her, it's hard to tell from where I'm at. As she gets closer to the house, the Biters that were inside knocked down the door, they started running towards her. She jumps on the car that's parked in the driveway and does this parkour thing and somehow she lands on the roof next to Jed gasping for air. 

"You always know how to make a entrance." Jed says as he hugs the girl, the girl with honey blonde hair and blue eyes. "Where are the others?" Jed says breaking the hug. 

Others, what others? Is that his girlfriend? No it can't be, why would he go to kiss me if he had a girlfriend? He did hug her... But he carried me all the way up here. Maybe, just maybe,  he does li-

"SABRINA!" Jed's in front of me clapping his hands in my face.

"What's with all the yelling?" I can feel the headache coming.

"You zoned out. He's been trying to get your attention for a while." The girls says with a lot of sass. I turn to look at the girl.

"And who are you?"

"Wow... you must have been really zoned out. I mean did you not hear Jedediah shout my name 'cuz I'm pretty sure ya were sittin' right there. Wait... I get it now, you must be stupid." She says with a huge smirk on her face.

"Come on R-" Jed starts to say, but I'm already on my feet.

"What did you just say?"

"Sabr-"

"You heard me Bitch."

"Who are you calling a Bitch?"

"That's right, I forgot you're stupid, let me just say it slower. YOU. ARE. A. BITCH."

"Oh, that's what I thought you say. I just had to make sure." I turn around so I could walk back to my spot.

"Dumb-ass Bitch." Rion mutters. That's it, I turn around and sock Rion right in the jaw with all my might. My side begins to burn, I hunch over in pain. Jed runs to my side.

"Are you okay, Sabrina? "His voice full of worry. I can't really breathe so I just stay hunched over. "Alright, let's just sit you down."

"WHAT? YOU'RE HELPING HER?"

"Shut up Rion or I might have to push you off this roof." That shuts Rion up. Jed helps me sit down on the roof. "Okay, take deep breaths." I do as I am told, even though it hurts, it feels like a bunch of toddlers are punching my side with all their strength. Let me just tell you, toddlers can hurt you really bad. Even they're small, they're fucking evil. "That's right just keep breathin."

"Jedediah... how the hell did find this goddamn Bitch?"

"Rion, I was not joking when I said I would push you off the roof. Let me tell you that it would would hurt like a motherfucker, alrighty?"

"Fine, I'll shut my trap."

"Thank God." Jed mutters. I smile at that and he smiles back. Oh My God, his smile just melts my heart. His face is just perfect. His eyes make everything just full of life. He's so close to me that I can smell him. He doesn't smell like how typical boys smell like. He smells like... he smells like rain and old spice; my two favorite smells in the entire world. Not only is his face perfect, but his body is too! Even though I barely know him, I feel so... protected when he's by me. I feel my cheeks growing warm.

"Are you okay? Is everything alright?"Jed once again asks with worry in his voice. I nod my head yes. "Alrighty." Relief in his voice this time. 

"Are ya gonna introduce me or are you just gonna keep making googly eyes at each other?" Rion asks. My cheeks for sure getting more red and Jed's going red too.

"Rion, this is Sabrina and Sabrina, this is my friend Rion."

"A friend?" I manage to get out.

" Yeah, a friend." Jed has this confused look on his face.

"Don't worry Bitch, I'm taken. Also I'm way out of his league and he's way out of yours. I honestly bet that you couldn't even get a date with one of the dead because, truth be told, you are one ugly shit."

"Rio-" Jed starts.

"I'M NOT DONE!" Rion yells at Jed before she returns her attention back to me. "You are so ugly that your parents are ashamed of you. Instead of being Daddy's Little Princess you are Satan's Ugly Whore." She keeps talking and I'm trying my hardest to keep the tears in my eyes, but they come out anyways. Jed notices them.

"RION SHUT YOUR FILTHY MOUTH!"

"OH! SO YOU THINK YOU HAVE A CHANCE WITH SATAN'S WHORE? YOU'D GET LESS STD'S IF YOU HAD SEX WITH A STRIPPER!"

"YOU KN-" Jed gets cut off once again. The sound of a window breaking stops them both. I've managed to stop crying. "Sabrina, get up and walk over here slowly." Jed says in a hush tone and he's staring at something behind me.

"What? Why?" I guess that made Rion mad.

"SHUT UP!" Rion's eyes widen. "Uh oh." I turn around and see a Biter. It slowly looks towards us. He stands there for a moment and then starts sprinting towards us. Rion is already on the ground. Jed pulls me up and grabs our stuff. 

"This is gonna hurt." Before I could say anything, he pulls me into his chest and he jumps off the roof. We luckily land in a bush. "You Okay?"

"I-I think so." Just as I said that there was a loud thud followed by a lot more thuds. It sounds like someone is throwing water balloons filled with water and ice off the roof and them landing on the ground. The thuds and squishy noises finally come to an end. Jed and I hold still for a while and when we don't hear anything, we know the coast is clear. Jed shifts and I grimace.

"You Okay?" He whispers.

"I'm fine, but my side isn't." I say with whatever breath I have. Jed sighs.

"Okay, I'm gonna slide from underneath you and it'll hurt, but I'll try to move fast."

"Okay."

"On three. One... tw-" He slides from under me and my side erupts in pain as I fall the two inches to the ground. I let out a small cry. 

"It's okay. It's over." I have tears in my eyes and my breathing becomes painful. He sits me up.  "Brina, look at me." I will my eyes to look into his. His eyes full of worry and they're searching my eyes. "I'm sorry there was no faster way to get us both down without getting bit."

"You.. Could've...left... me... behind..."

" I coulda done that, but I could never leave somethin' as beautiful as you behind. Never in million years would I do that."

"...Never?..."

"Never, ever." He leans in to kiss me and so do I. I don't know what happened, but side erupts in pain. I double over. "Sabrina? SABRINA? What's wrong?"

"M-my...... S-side." I barely manage to get out.

"Sabrina look at me! Please!" Jed begs. I look him straight in the eyes. Everything starts to spin and then it goes black.
