I have contemplated what to write
Struggling to find the correct words
Finally, I have decided
That I will compare thee to the birds
Wonder why you spread your wings
Selecting to soar so very high
Suppose that this world was akin to a cage
Hence your destination became above azure sky
Sweetheart, you were a mere fledgling
Too young to depart the nest of life
Too young to fly passed clouds and stars
Endeavoring to tell myself you're now free of strife
You are cared for, missed, and loved here on Earth
Where you couldn't find a suitable perch within any tree
No matter the distance, you shall remain in our hearts
May you have now discovered light and endless serenity
