"What's wrong Wood? We've just won our quickest match ever, and you're moping about like you got hit with a quaffle!"
Oliver looked over at his teammate, Angelina Johnson, and shook his head.

"It's not that, I'm really thrilled about our win..."

"Yeah, we can see that." she replied sarcastically.

Oliver sighed, "It's just...well, you didn't happen to see Freya at the match did you?"

Angelina thought about it for a moment, and looked over to Katie and Alicia who both shrugged.

"No, sorry can't say that I did."

"That's what I was afraid of..." he said, rubbing his forehead.

"Oh, so it's Freya that's got you all upset then is it?" Angelina asked, with a knowing smile. "Did something happen between you two?"

Oliver blushed, and averted the gaze of his three teammates who all had their eyes fixed on him.

"Well, I mean I didn't think it was a big deal...but she sort of blew up on me the other day. Accused me of using her as a 'strategy-consultant' or something..." he mumbled.

"Ah, so the Hufflepuff's patience finally wore out it seems." Alicia speculated.

"I'm amazed it held out this long, really. Anyone else would've given up long ago." Katie chimed in.

"What are you talking about?" Oliver asked, his brow creased in frustration.

"Oh, honestly Wood, the poor girl's been following you around for years, and you still haven't got a clue that she's mad about you!" Angelina said, shaking her head in disbelief.

Oliver's teammate might as well have hit him with an actual quaffle as he felt all the air leave his lungs, and was left speechless for a moment.

"...Mad about me?" he asked slowly, as if trying to piece together a puzzle that he had just discovered another part to.

"Well, obviously. That bludger really did a number on you in your first year didn't it?"

Oliver was too confused to give a response, which prompted Alicia to say, "Oh dear, I think we've broken him."

Angelina looked him over, "Say Oliver, you like Freya don't you?"

"Yeah, of course!" he said quickly, "She's my best friend-"

"But do you like her?"

He hesitated, because before today he had never really given much thought to the nature of his feelings for Freya. He knew he cared for her, but the extent to which he did was something he had never before considered, simply because he hadn't needed to consider it. The pain he felt earlier had forced him to though, and Oliver finally realized why it had hurt him so much to not have Freya beside him. He felt completely lost without her, a far worse feeling than losing any match he'd ever played, because losing her meant losing a part of himself. She completed him, and it had been that way for a while now, he had just been to foolish to acknowledge it.

"Well, yeah...I suppose I do." he mumbled.

"And you think she's cute?" Alicia asked.

Oliver promptly turned red, stuttering out some indecipherable response.

"We'll take that as a 'yes'." she said, grinning.

"Tell us Wood, what exactly do you like about Freya?" Angelina questioned him, and all three girls moved closer to their rather embarrassed captain.

"Why do you want to know?" Oliver was becoming increasingly uncomfortable, and couldn't believe he had allowed himself to be trapped in his current situation.
