Chapter 2
School was just another endless gateway to hell. There was no need to have it today. All classes were basically cancelled because of this rain that appeared out of nowhere, so teachers decided to have us watch movies instead. In all classes. By all means, I'm not complaining. Heck, it should be like this every damn day. It was a great way for me to catch up on my sleep without the teachers being upset. I've gone through the first couple of periods sleeping, but sadly the break in between 4th period holds no peace. Walking to my locker, Aden caught up in the midst of the crowded hallway. He seemed too eager to control his emotions because he was basically out of breathe from running.
"Dude, breathe, what is wrong with you today?" I asked him as I unlocked my locker, looking at him incredulously.
"Girls...visiting...campus...hotter..." he stumbled out.
"Okay, relax," I chuckled as I put my books away and took out my notebook for next class, "Are you relaxed?"
He took a deep breathe and nodded.
"You may proceed."
"Okay, you know how I help out in the office during 3rd?" I nodded, if I answered the story would've stop midway, "Okay, I saw what looked like three new kids, but they aren't enrolled. Don't plan on it either, thats what the principles assistant said, but thats not the point."
"Than what is the point?" I asked him, confused as to why he was so eager about these people.
He looked at me with wide eyes and if I had grown a second head. "The point is, they're girls dude!" He whisper shouted "I couldn't see their faces, but beautiful hair, and oh god, thei-"
I covered his mouth, stopping what I knew he was about to say.
I removed my hand from his mouth, "Don't continue, I got it." I laughed at his reaction as I could see the image play out in his eyes. Sick fuck.
He laughed at the fact that this was possibly the most awkward moment we've had all year.
Suddenly, the scene in front of me warped and changed into something from a nightmare. We were on the battle field. I stared in complete shock as the moonlight, instead of cascading in white, tinted the earth red. The battle against the Underworld was ongoing, taking the lives of the innocent. Realization dawned on me as Aden wasn't anywhere in sight, my chest constricted, making it hard to breath.
"Aden!" I screamed his name as loud as I could, "Aden! Where are you?"
I didn't see him at all, it was as if though he was never in front of me to begin with. Grunts, groans, screams were everywhere. All I cared about was finding Aden and getting the hell out of here.
Then, out of the blue, as if the Gods have answered my prayers, Aden was walking towards me holding an unconscious girl with snow white hair stained in blood. He looked up at me and I was taken aback. He looked like Aden, but wasn't. His features were more sharp, his eyes, no longer blue but a mixture of gold and red, were on high alert but the hint of sadness never faltered.
"She's dying..." he whispered.
The sound of a victory horn was heard across, signaling the end.
The horn turned into the sound of a school bell ringing. The scene before me morphing once more, and the sound of students chattering and feet stomping in the hallways filled my ears. We were back at school.
Aden was still in front of me, blabbering about the girls from the office, which he probably won't even have the balls to ask out. But any who, that's not important right now.
