Thunder Claw

This is my story, try to listen well,
For I can be quiet even when I yell.
I live in a mound yet feel trapped in a cell.
I am an ant. Oh, how could you not tell?

I am not the average ant you'd think though.
Whenever they say "March fast!" I say, "March slow!"
I tend linger behind in every row.
When they say, "Feed the Queen", I say "Ha! No!"

There is just one rule we all know to keep
From the top of the hill to the ground so deep.
Beware of the monster that fools only seek.
Beware of the Thunder Claw that ceases all sleep.

As days went by, I felt tired and blue.
"Why do we hide? This falsity isn't true!
We are misunderstood from our point of view.
It's like we run, and hide, and wait on cue."

I couldn't take it, I had the last straw.
I left the hill, for there was no line to drawn;
However, I didn't walk far 'for I saw
The terror of terrors...the Thunder Claw!

I yelled, punched, and kicked it, but it didn't care.
Its durable red skin had no ware or tear.
The ants ran after me and cried "Beware!"
A low growl came from the beast unawares.

It's great shadow covered the sun like dawn.
It's raging roar came from the depths where it spawned
Along with its dangerous claws which it had drawn.
To demolish our hill...and cut the lawn.

A.N. I hate ants >_<
