An Immortal Commitment

Can I ask you one thing, love?
Oh, I long for more than just one,
But tell me what your heart tells you.
What wrong to you have I done?

Why must you hurt my heart so?
Why make me go through all I lost
And go back to that dismal spot?
You made it too high a cost.

I wish to know what I did,
So I can fix the wrong I've done.
I long to make things right for us,
Not to boast of what I've won.

Your care and love-- they're dying,
And your wonderful smile fades.
Where your love goes, I do not know,
But oh, how I wish it stays.

Please, I beg your forgiveness,
For my very soul aches in pain
At the loss of my closest friend.
And I shan't go through it again.

The loss of a friend cuts deep,
But you fear a fear worse than he.
I now see your love is not cold.
You have fear of losing me!

Why must such love end so soon
At times that one may never know?
Sores and wounds trouble me not, but
Why must my pain have to grow!

Stop! Please stop your despairing!
You allow grief to come with haste,
The absence of your care is
One path I'm not ready to face.

What we may loose tomorrow
Can't stop the love we have today.

A/N: The bold is the guy talking, and the italics is the girl talking. I wrote this while I thought of the future and the ultimate end :( of life. But now I feel a happiness and comfort knowing that I can have a love for something that has no end :). I talk too much >_< well, I hope y'all like it.
