Selena's POV
I woke up and immediately panicked when I couldn't feel the warmth of Justin's body next to me. But I relaxed as soon as I heard a voice coming from the shower, he was singing and it was hilarious. I couldn't help but smile slightly at the thought. My phone lit up as I received a call from my mom, quickly ending the call I slammed my face down and screamed into the pillow. The frustration was building up and I couldn't deal with it. So, I decided to distract myself by scrolling through Instagram for a while, which reminded me of all of my fans who were still out there supporting me, even if I was stranded in Texas trying to get my shit together. After thinking for a moment, I snapped a selfie and captioned it, I owed them an explanation, so that's what I gave them.
"To my beautiful fans,
Words cannot describe how much you mean to me, you are the light in my life and I will thank you forever for that. However, I have had a rough time lately. So I am doing what everyone around me thinks is best, I am back in Texas, I am back home. I hope you can understand that sometimes this all becomes too overwhelming, so for now I will be stepping out of the spotlight, but everything will be okay.
Thank you, I love you"I don't know what I felt, but it was confusing. Almost as though I had let them down, I could feel it in my heart, and i hated it. I pulled the sheets over my head and let my tears fall. This wasn't a good start to the day.
Justin's POV
I walked out of my bathroom with my towel wrapped around my waist and entered my bedroom. I was surprised to hear a small weep coming from under the sheets, and immediately realised that Selena was crying. I made my way over to the bed and sat on the other side, pulling the sheets down and revealing an extremely sad face."Sel, what's wrong?" I asked hesitantly, not wanting to make things worse.
"I've let them down Justin." She whispered, rolling over in the opposite direction and covering her face with her hands.
"Your fans? You know that's not true. They want what's best for you, don't be stupid." I lay next to her and wrapped my arm around her waist, holding her for a moment whilst she cried.
"Justin! Sele-" I heard, as someone entered the room, stopping as soon as they saw what was going on. It was my mom.
"I'm sorry, breakfast is done so come down whenever you're ready." She said softly before quietly closing the door on her way out.
"Well that's great now your mom knows I've been crying." Selena groaned as she rolled back over to face me.
"And your point is?" I smiled, poking her nose which finally caused her to smile.
"IT'S A MIRACLE! SELENA GOMEZ IS SMILING!" I shouted, jumping up onto my bed whilst celebrating.
"Shut up! You're such a dork!" Selena laughed, dragging me back down.
I got out of bed and dragged her out with me, even though she resisted as much as she could.

Justin's POV
"Breakfast was good." Selena said, looking out of the window, avoiding eye contact.
We were on our way to school and we still hadn't discussed what had happened yesterday, I still don't know why Selena's mom slapped her, I still don't know what she was going through.
"I'm glad you enjoyed it." I replied, glancing over for a moment to try and decipher what was going on in that crazy mind of hers.
"So, Selena, you don't have to tell me what's going on yet, but I need you to know that you can trust me." I said, I didn't know if that was the right thing to say but it was true. Ever since she arrived in Texas I've felt as though we just get each other, I don't look at her and see the "superstar" Selena Gomez. I look at her and I just see Selena, the girl who moved back to Texas.
"Thanks." She broke my train of thought, and in the corner of my eye I could see her looking at me. She smiled softly before glancing down, twirling her thumbs whilst she thought carefully about her next words.
"I don't want this to change anything, and I'm sure it won't." She said quietly.
"Of course it-" I began, trying to reassure her.
"Stop." She interrupted. I giggled slightly at her sudden rush of courage.
"I know I know. I'm just going to say this before I stop myself again." She took a moment to compose herself.
"Okay, my life was spiralling out of control in LA. On the outside it looked like I had everything together, but I didn't." She stopped for a moment and I heard her sniffle. I didn't stop her because I knew how much she needed to just talk about this.
"I was depressed. Really fucking depressed, and I didn't know what I was doing. Sure, I have millions of people who care about me, and I'm so grateful for that, but I was just so unhappy. My mom, she wanted to help, she still does, but she doesn't know when to stop. How is it okay for her to slap me when I already feel like shit? And it wasn't the first time either." I could hear the frustration in her voice now.
"That's not okay. It makes me feel like shit knowing you're going through this, and I'm sorry. I'm happy you told me, you can trust me. Okay?" I said, looking over at her as I parked at school. She was in tears, sobbing, my heart ached. So I leant over and wrapped my arms around her petite frame. She buried her face into my shoulder, attempting to calm down her breathing.
I was distracted by a huge crowd that began to gather around the car, their eyes all glued on Selena and I. Some of them were laughing, taking photos are recording us, like they were watching some kind of show. I felt so angry and my body tensed up, that's when Sel raised her head and saw what was going on.
