Chapter One

“So...We're actually stuck in here now then.” I said, looking at my friend named Daichi. Daichi chose a strange weapon kit, as soon as he launched the game he went to the store and bought as many throwing knives as he could with the little starter money he had. I also chose an unconventional weapon set: I bought a dagger which I hold “icepick-style” to block attacks with. In my other hand I had a regular one handed sword, which I've made lighter by shaving off some metal, which made it slightly sharper than the default. “Let's just farm money and exp a bit, get some supplies and venture out to find the first dungeon.” Daichi said to me. “Well, you'd need some money after spending it all on those useless knives...” I said to Daichi, grinning. We walked onto the fields and looked around for some mobs to kill. I spotted a boar on the horizon, and pointed towards it. Daichi understood what I meant and sprinted after me to the boar. As I reached the boar, Daichi stopped. I looked around and he shouted “Just attack it!”. I shrugged and swung my sword at it. The boar was knocked back by my attack, but he recovered quicker than I realised and jumped at me. Right before he hit me, he flew to the left, with a throwing knife in his left flank. I looked over at Daichi and thought “Those knives weren't that useless after all” I spun back around and stabbed the boar in the head, and it exploded into thousands of blue polygons.

“Nice work with that knife there man!” I said to Daichi. He shrugged and said “Well, they aren't that useless are they?” “Obviously not” I said “Let's find some more boars!” I shouted whilst I was sprinting away. After we killed a ton of boars, Daichi called for my help. I turned around and saw him fending off a bigger boar than all the other ones. I looked at his name and saw he had a coloured name, which is an indicator that this was a special mob. “Watch out Daichi! This guy is an elite!” I saw Daichi's health bar go down under half. I reached them, and slammed my whole body into the boar, which jumped backwards. I looked at his health bar and saw that my bodyslam didn't affect the boar at all. I chased after the boar using my sword skill «Sonic Leap» and hit him hard in the right flank. I heard Daichi shouting to me that I should duck and I did. I felt a gust of wind in my hair and as I looked up I saw a knife poking out of the boar's neck. The boar swung his tusks towards me, and I tried to catch the blow with my dagger. The dagger slipped out of my hand because of the boar's sheer power, and I was hit hard in my stomach. I landed hard on the floor, and after I stood up I looked down and saw red polygons spilling out of a giant gap in my side. I saw my hp bar go down to about half. I grabbed my sword with both my hands and wildly swung at the boar's head, breaking off one of his tusks. I jumped sideways and used « Vertical Arc », my highest level sword skill available to me at the time, but his HP bar was still around ¾ full. Panic started to get to me, when I suddenly felt several blue stripes fly towards the boar and hit him in his eye.

The boar redirected his attention to Daichi, giving me time to grab my dagger from the floor. After I took up my dagger I sprinted towards the boar, readying my « Sonic Leap » again. When I got into range, I activated it and hit the boar with such impact he flew up into the air. His HP bar was now only a quarter filled. I looked over at Daichi and saw him ready his « Triple Shot » Throwing Knife skill. Three purple streaks of light hit the boar with deadly precision and force, knocking it back over my head and hitting the floor with the sickening sound of breaking bones. It was stunned for a 10 second time period. I threw my dagger over at Daichi and said “You should get this kill, you saved me back then.” Daichi caught the knife and looked at me. I nodded. Daichi walked over and without hesitation slit the boar's throat.
