Pokemon High

Chapter 2

"So do you happen to know why he's moving here then, May?" Gary asked

"No..." May said. "I haven't talked to him since christmas. He left on another adventure this summer was the last that I heard."

"Exactly" Gary said, "Thats part of the reason he's here. My grandpa is actually coming here too and filled me in on everything. I think you are all going to like him. Especially you Calem, he's a really good battler."

"Well there's no way he's better than me" Calem replied with a smug attitude. 'We'll see Calem' Gary thought to himself.

"So how was everyone's summer? Misty asked trying to break the tension.

"Great!" Calem said excitedly. "I was in the Pokémon league this summer and got second place!"

"Wow Calem, that's pretty cool" Misty said trying to sound excited.

"Yea it was really awesome. You have to be a really good battler to make it that far in the Kalos league" Calem said leaning closer to Serena trying to get some sort of response from her. She only looked at him and tried to back up from him, accidentally bumping into Dawn.

"Sure Calem but you have to be even better to get first place" Dawn said, trying to deflate his ego before he got too close to Serena.

"Thats not fair!" Calem said defensively. "The guy who beat me was a total dick!"

"How so? Asked Gary, who like the others weren't fully understanding.

Flashback

"Good luck" the hooded finalist said with a very optimistic tone as he reached a hand towards his opponent.

"I don't need luck when I have my Tyrantrum" Calem said, "I haven't even had to use more than him to get this far, you'll be an easy win!" He did not even acknowledge his opponents hand in front of him.

"Don't assume that I'm some trainer you can beat with brute force. I haven't used more than my partner right here. Isn't that right Pikachu?" He responded.

"Pika!" The yellow mouse said pointing in Calem's direction.

"Then why don't we begin" Calem said. "You read my mind" was all his opponent said before returning to his side of the battlefield.

"Go Tyrantrum!" Calem said while throwing his pokeball to the center of the field. When it reached its mark, it split open and the giant Tyrannosaurus Rex like pokemon came out. It stood at least 15 feet tall and gave a huge roar into the sky as the audience cheered for his pokemon. "How's that for power?" Calem asked. The hooded figure however was not impressed.

"I'll say it again, you won't beat me with sheer force Calem. Go Pikachu and show him how we battle!" Hey said as Pikachu leapt from his shoulder and ran to face the massive dinosaur.

"This isn't even fair" Calem said with a smirk. "Tyrantrum use stone edge!" Upon his command the massive T-Rex gave a large roar again as he stomped his foot on the ground releasing a series of rocks rising from the ground leading towards Pikachu.

"Pikachu, quick attack and jump on the rocks!" Pikachu did as his trainer commanded and jumped onto the rock, and then jumped to the next continuing to gain altitude and speed. Once he reached the last rock he jumped as high as he possible could. Tyrantrum and Calem did nothing, frozen in shock as the little mouse used his most powerful attack to jump higher and higher. When he left the last rock, the hooded trainer yelled, "Now use volt tackle as you're falling!" Pikachu began to emit sparks as it fell towards the dinosaur. As he continued to get fast and the sparks began to envelope his yellow body. Tyrantrum's eyes widened as the Pikachu slammed into the top of the massive dinosaurs head with a huge explosion. Once the smoke cleared Pikachu was sitting over by the hooded trainers half of the battlefield while Tyrantrum was laying on the ground with swirly eyes.
