An orphanage. That's where I had to go after my parents "died". That's what I was told. I live my life in an orphanage now ever since that incident. I became very silent after that. The only time I would talk is only to Yuu. Yuu is my best friend. He may be a trouble maker but he's a good friend. My parents liked him. So now I just have him. Everyday I spend my day's outside, sitting in a tree. Everyday Yuu comes and visits me. What I didn't know was that a family was here to adopt a child.
"Aneki Nen. Can you come down please. A family is here to adopt you!" A girl, in her early 20's, yelled.
I looked down to see her smiling. I jump down from the tree and followed her inside to where the family was. As I enter the room, a father, a mother, a daughter and a son, look my direction. I hide behind the woman and she looks down at me. She gently smiles at me and tells me to go sit down on a chair and wait. I do as I'm told.
The daughter and son come sit next to me while the adults fill out some paper work. I stay quiet until the son broke the silence
"So what's your name?" He asks
"Aneki...Aneki Nen..." I say shyly.
"Nice to meet you. My name is Kagune. And that's my sister Poet" He points to his sister.
"HI! It's nice to meet you Aneki!" She says cheerfully, which scares me a bit because I haven't been around people like her.
I just simply nod. I looked down at the floor and think. I never been adopted, previous families thought I was 'strange'. I didn't understand before. I think Yuu explained to me before but I think I didn't pay attention like all the other times.
"I'll be right back..." I say as I get up and walk to the backyard.
They just watch me as I leave. When I arrive to the backyard, I see Yuu at our usual place. I jog towards him and he welcomes me with a smile. Yuu usually wears his tennis outfit and some Nike's, with his heart shape eye patch that he wears on his right eye.
"Yo, Aneki. Where have you been? I've been waiting here for about an hour," he says in an exaggerated tone.
"Pft, what are you saying. It's only been 30 minutes," I say with a smile.
"So I heard the big news~" he smirks at me.
"You guessed it. I'm getting adopted. For the first time," I say kind of sadly.
"You should be excited. You finally get to leave and you can help me escape the cops," he says in such a happy tone.
'Typical Yuu' I look at him and smile. "See you soon, Yuu."
"Yeah, see you soon."
With that, I left back inside and went to go pack. As I was packing, I hear a familiar voice.
"Need help with that," He says.
I jump, startled by his appearance. I just shake my head saying no and continue packing. He comes over to me to see what I was packing. He was shocked by how little I have. I just continue to pack. After I was done, Kagune and I went back to the waiting room.
"Are you excited?" Kagune asks breaking the silence.
"Kind of..." I say while walking with my head down.
When we reach the room, my new parents stand before me. I look up at them and they give me a warm smile. I can't help but blush a little. I hear them chuckle. I look back down. Then I feel a hand on my head. I look up and see my new dad smiling. He ruffles my hair. As if my hair wasn't a mess already. I smile slightly.
As we leave the orphanage, Kagune and Poet were talking about how much fun I was going to have once we arrived at their house. I just ignored their conversation and continued to look around town. As I'm looking around town, I see a couple of stores that I might want to visit later.
'This place is nice. Even though I never been outside of the orphanage.'
As I'm looking around, I see a familiar park. I stare at it for what feels like a long while, until I hear someone yell.
"HEY! WATCH OUT!" some person says.
As I'm about to turn around, I feel something hit my head really hard. I fall down and I see everything blurry.
"Aneki!" that was the last thing I hear before I pass out.
