Death Game

I burst through my bed room door carrying a box in my arms and my phone to my ear being held with my right shoulder. My girlfriend was on the phone. We had both just bought the new game that everyone is going crazy for: Sword Art Online. We've been waiting forever for this game to come out, and by we I mean myself. I conviced her to get the game with me so we can play together. "Yea I'm about to set up, how about you?" I asked Roxana. I heard some rustling in the background. "I'm getting set up right now." she respond. "Should I let you go then?" "No it's fine. I like to hear your voice." I laugh when she says that. "Fine, if you want to."

As we set up the game we talk to each other to help past the time. "So where's your family at?" I asked. "Well my mom took my baby sister to a play date. And my lil brother and sister are at a friend's house." "Wow so it's one of those rare moments when your home alone." "Yup." "Dame now I wish I was over there." even thou we were on the phone I can tell she was blushing a lil. "Ahem, what about you?" "Well my dad's at work and my step mom is with my sister down stairs." "Oh that's nice." "So what do you think the game will be like?" "Gonna suck." I hear her laugh. "Why do you say that." "Cuz I'm no good at video games." she's laughing. "Well hey you got me and Jacob to back you up so don't worry." I ensure her. Having my best friend and my girlfriend in an awesome game, that's an amazing time.

I finished setting up and laid on my bed with the nerve gear next to me. "Well I'm done. How about you?" I asked. "Oh I've been done for awhile I just wanted to talk to you." she laughed and I laughed with her. "Well I'll see you in the game ok?" "Ok, bye." she said sweetly. Her voice was like sugar to me. "Bye." I hung up the phone and call Jacob. I doubt he'll answer, bet he's in the game right now waiting or getting a head start on leveling up. "Your call has been..." I hung up before it could finish. I was right. He was one of the beta testers so no shit he'd be in by now. Lucky bastered. I get up from my bed and look out the window. Its a beautiful day outside. Birds are chirpping, flowers are in bloom, but on a day like this a teen like me is playing a video game. I sigh as I lay back on my bed and put the nerve gear on. "Here's hopin. Link start!"

I'll give the developers one thing: these graphics look amazing. I open my eyes and look down at my hands. I clap them together. It feels so real as I rub my hands together. I looked at my body. I was wearing brown combat boots along with black pants. On my hands wear black fingerless gloves. I had on a dark blue long sleeve with basic leather armor on top. So realistic. I started to run around the plaza admiring the buildings and shops I passed. Jacob told me that there was a fountain around the corner form the spawn point. He said that we'd meet up there and then go hunt for monsters. He wasn't specific where to go so I was just running around like an idiot. Off to a great start.

"Hey!! Zero!!!!" that's me. I looked over to where the voice came from. A boy around my height with long blond hair with the same attire as me but a red instead of blue long sleeve. With him was girl with long black hair and a blue long sleeve like mine but was a lil lighter. Unlike most girls around here she was wearing black pants instead of a battle skirt. "How'd you know it was me?" I asked as I fist bumped him. "You use 'zero' for everything bro." "I could've been a stranger you know." "I took the risk." I looked at the girl who was my girlfriend. She have me a big hug and I returned the favor. "How did you get here before me?" I asked. Before she could answer Jacob interrupted her. "Cuz she's not an idiot. Can we get this show on the road." me and Roxana smiled at each other.

"aaaaaAAAh!" I let out a battle cry for no reason. I cut down another wolf with my sword. No blood came out of the wolf. Funny since it was a "blood wolf". Anyway the wolf burst into tiny red crystals and disappeared. So I guess that's kinda like blood. "How you guys holding up?" I asked. I heard the sound of blades slicing through flesh. Gross. "Oh you know. Chillin." I heard Jacob's voice over the sound of barks and snarls from the two wolf's he was battling. I trust he can handle his own so I let him be and ran over to Roxana. She was fighting boars which were weaker than the wolves. As soon as I was by her side she had already defeated it. "So what do you think so far?" I pet her head. She was panting a lil. "Well... Its the most exercise I've gotten in awhile." I laughed. "It's all clear now." we walked over to Jacob. "So what do you think?" he asked. I looked at my sword for a sec. My reflection, my avatar stared back at me. I sheath my sword in my back. "It's amazing. Still I think it should have magic though." "Maybe someday." Roxana said from behind me. "But not today."

We sat down on the grassy plains in the fields east of the town of beginnings. The sun was setting giving the sky a nice caramel flavor. I laid down on the grass and let the wind blow over me face. Roxana laid down next to me and cuddled with me. I held her close to me. I looked down at her face and I realized it was just an avatar not the real her. It was her in spirit, but she didn't look like her. "What's wrong?" she had on a worried look on her face. I signed and smiled again. "It's nothing, don't worry about." I reassured her. It was fine for awhile but Jacob's voice killed it. "You guys aren't gonna do it right?" I got up from the grass and snuck up behind Jacob and got him in a head lock. "Gaaah!! The hell!!" he struggled in my arms trying to break free. I throw him aside and he fell to the ground. "Your an ass." he said laughing

"What are you doing?" I asked Jacob who was sitting next to us. He was in his menu scrolling through stuff. He had a serious look on his face. "Huh? Oh, I'm just looking to see what skills I should master." I was counfused for a bit. "You where a beta tester so shouldn't you use the ones from before." "I didn't choose well last time." "Ha, idiot." I looked over at Roxana who was laying on my lap. I pocked her cheek. "Hey wake up for a sec." she complained for a bit but then got up. "Whaaaat?" "let's take a pic. For our first day here." "That's ..... Stupid." Jacob said still sitting down. "Just get in here." I pulled us all together. I grabbed a crystal out of my inventory. It's like a camera, I bought it while running around. And by bought I mean it was free. I set the timer and pushed it away in front of us. We smiled and it took a pic.

"Welp I'm logging out." I said. Roxana clinged to me as I said that. "No! Just a lil longer please." I patted her head with a smile. "It's almost 5:30. I have to go eat, and you have to go to don't you." she had a defeated look on her face and let go. I opened my menu. "We'll meet up tomorrow. So don't worry." I gave her one last smile before turning back to my menu. "Huh? Hmmm.... Hey Jacob." I called out. "Where's the log out button?" he walked over. "Really bro?" "I'm clicking on the button but for one it's blank and it's not working." "It's the same for me too." Roxana called from behind. Jacob opened his menu and looked as well. "No... No way." "Do you think it's a bu..." before Roxana could finish her sentence, a blue light glowed at her feet and she disappeared into the light. I dived into the light trying to get to her but I was too late. "What the hell was that?" Jacob looked around for a bit. "Someone's using a forced teleport. I don't know why." then Jacob disappeared as well into a blue light. I reached out but I couldn't get him. With the log out button gone and my friends sudden disappearance. I was a lil scared. Then a blue light appeared below me. Well looks like I was about to find out where they were going.
