"What have you been doing for all this time?"

Edward sat besides me on the roof. We had spent the past couple hours together, reminiscing.

"I've been traveling all over the world. i spent some time in Barcelona and then Greece. I've seen the most beautiful places Ed."

"How did you end up in forks?" He looked at me expectantly.

"I didn't mean to end up here per say. I was running."  

"Running?"

I nodded timidly. "I didn't know where to go. I had no one that would take me in for even just one night. I was scared."

Edward scooted closer and grasped my shoulder. "Who were you running from?"

I shook my head and closed off my mind from him. I could see the hurt evident in his face. "I can't tell you or you'll be at risk. That's why I can't stay for that much longer. I have to start moving again soon before they find out."

"Before who finds out Eva? Cmon you can tell me. let us help you."

I looked at him with a pained expression. "They'll kill you if they found out you were hiding me."

Edward's eyes widened in realization and his face contorted into anger. He grasped my arm and sped back into the house. He threw me into the living room, his face livid. "When were you planning on telling us?"

By now everyone had gathered around us. Bella fled to Edward's side and exchanged glances between the two of us. "What's going on?"

I ignored her and kept my eyes still on Edward. "I didn't want to worry you. I was going to leave when no one noticed. I wasn't supposed to find you."

"By not telling us not only are you in danger, but the rest of us are! Did you think about that?"

I scoffed. "Of course I did Edward! How could you even think otherwise?"

Carlisle stood in between us a look of concern laced on his face. "Why don't the both of you just cool down and explain to us whats going on?"

Alice swept up from behind me and placed her hand gently on my shoulder. "Evangelina is planning to turn herself over to the Volturi before they track her down to Forks. She's going to sneak out after dark."

Edward looked at me hurt. "What?"

I wrapped myself up in my arms and shrunk away from Alice's touch. "It's the only way to keep you safe. I realized that when you first took me in. I have to give myself up before they find out that I'm here. And from what Edward has told me, you are all already under their watch. You will not suffer any unnecessary consequences because of me."

I walked passed Edward and out the door sitting myself down on the porch. I closed my eyes and listened to everything around me. I blocked out the sounds of bickering inside and focused on the ongoing nature around me. My peace was interrupted when I heard the door open and close. Someone sat down beside me and without glancing I knew who it was.

"You do kind of smell like wet dog."

Jacob chuckled from beside me. "I would have a comeback but you dont actually smell like a bloodsucker."
