Bestfriends :)

I did not see that coming.

"Do we have an assignment?" I said.

"Good morning to you, too, Nique," my friend, Julianna, said.

"No assignment for today. Talk about something new, huh?" Garret smiled.

"That's a relief," I said with sigh of relief.

Julianna and Garret are my two close friends after Bryce and I stopped being bestfriends. There accountancy students too and were classmates. They know everything about me including the part about Bryce. There friends with Bryce too.

"Niq, look!" Juli said.

I looked around and I saw Bryce and his soocer teammates walking over to our direction. My heart immediately pounded like crazy. Then, I remembered Nicki Minaj's song. Boy, you got my heartbeat running away. Beating like a drum and its coming your way. Can't you hear that boom badoom boom boom badoom boom bass. Super bass. I started to laugh on my own and I looked like a crazy person. Oh well, that's me. I think Bryce heard me laugh beacuse he looked over my direction. Our eyes met and that's it for my heart. My heartbeat didn't accelerate because it STOPPED. I just realized that I really do miss him. And as if our eye to eye contact was not enough. He smiled at me. Not just that ordinary smile he does to girls swooning over him. The smile he used to have everytime were together in the past. The smile he got plastered on his face everytime he's happy. Waaait. He's happy? Happy because of what? Me? NO WAY! I told you I'm crazy. 

"Oy! Earth to Nique," Garret said while snapping his fingers infront of me.

"Oh, sorry," I apologized.

"Haaaay. You have got to get over him. Its been what? Two years already?," that's Juli. Always pestering me to get over Bryce. Hey, I'm trying. And still trying. And trying.

"Yeah, I know." 

Juli tried to say something but I never got to here it because Garret pulled her away from me. And I didn'y know what's going on until I heard someone say my name behind me. So i turned around and wish I hadn't. 

"Nikoy!," Bryce called me.

My heart flipped over after hearing the nickname Bryce used to call me.

"Oh, hey. What's up?" of course I tried to act as if my kness are not trembling and i might just collapse anytime. 

"Nothing. I just wanna ask what you want for your birthday."

"What? You remember my birthday?"

"What kind of question is that? Of course I remember your birthday."

"But that's a week away."

"I know.  So what do you want?"

"Uh. I don't know?" You back in my life? you back as my besfriend? But of course I didn't say that aloud.

"Never mind. I'll think about it. That's the bell. I gotta go. see you, Nikoy!"
