*Luke's P.O.V.*
I'm woken up at 5:00am by the sound of intense knocking on the door. I bolt up from the bed and to the door before the knocking wakes up Delilah. Thank goodness she wasn't a super light sleeper. I'm greeted to the sight of a distressed looking Michael.

"Hey, Mikey. What's going on?" I ask, my voice still groggy from just waking up.

"Luke, I'm so sorry to bother you this early. But... Calum and I can't watch Delilah today." Michael's eyes are wide with worry, but instead of expressing any concern I had my mind goes into immediate panic mode. There was no way I could handle a baby and guitar at the same time, no way at all.

"What? Why not? I didn't do something wrong did I?" I manage to say.

"No, oh dear god no it's nothing like that."

"Then what, Mike? I need you guys, you don't understand. Whatever I or Delilah did I'm sorry. Just please -"

"Luke, it's Cal's sister. She was in a terrible car accident this morning. The doctors don't know if she'll make it, but she's asking for Calum. We need to be with her right now, I'm sorry."

My heart nearly stops beating. I hadn't known Mali that long, but she was amazing with Delilah. I couldn't imagine what Calum was going through.

"Oh my god... Of course. I'm so sorry, Mikey. Please tell him I'm sorry."

"It's okay, thank you for understanding Luke. We'll be back as soon as possible." And with that, Michael disappeared back into his apartment.

I take a deep breath before closing the door and sitting on the bed. I run my hands through my hair, looking over to Delilah. I had no idea how I was going to make it through today. It wasn't safe for her to be out there with me for so long, who knew what could happen. That's why I trusted the Cliffords with her.

"Looks like it's just us today, princess. Just you and me," I say quietly. I lay back down, but I can't fall asleep, so I settle for closing my eyes. I was going to need all the rest I could get.

Delilah wakes up around 5:47am. I'm right there to grab her the moment she starts to cry.

"Hey there, beautiful. Shh, shh, daddy's right here baby girl."

Her cries die down when she makes out my face, instead turning into quiet little whimpers. I smile down at her.

"Hi there, baby. Good morning my little sunshine."

I say little things to her in a soothing voice until she wakes up fully, a smile taking over her features.

"There she is!" I say, kissing her nose and forehead. "You're with daddy today, baby girl. Let's get ready, okay?" I start our daily routine of changing Delilah's diaper, making her a bottle, and taking a shower.

By 6:15am we're almost ready to go, I just had to figure out a way to carry Delilah and play guitar the same time, something I had never thought about doing before. Maybe I could keep the baby bag unzipped and put her in there but... No. She'd get way too restless.

I could ask Alex, but he's already doing a lot for us. And leaving her alone was absolutely out of the question. I sigh and look down at Delilah, who's sitting in my lap along with Pengy.

"What are we going to do, little penguin?" I mumble to her. My biggest fear was that she'd somehow find a way to crawl away from me when I wasn't paying attention. She couldn't walk yet, only when I held her hands, so that was some relief. But who knows what could happen to her if she got away.
