Close As Strangers (Nikki Misery)

After the phone call Nikki messaged me the address to a small cafe right around the corner of Walgreens. (I searched it up) it's was called Lina's cafe. It's nice and cozy inside. As I waited for Nikki a waitress came up to me and asked if I was ready to order to which I declined and waited for Nikki to get here and order together. It just hit me right now that I will be see someone who meant so much to me for the first time in months.

The bells on the door rang through out the cafe which made me turn around and there entering, was the one and only, Nikki Misery. His eyes scanning the room looking for me. I of Course had to sit in the back of the cafe. Our eyes met, I held my breath as he started walking my way. 'Okay this is it, no big deal it's just Nikki, an old friend' I thought to my self. "Hey, have you ordered yet?" He asks as he takes a seat across from me. "Nope, I was waiting for you, so we could order together." I say with a small smile.

He nods and calls the waitress over. "Hello, you ready to order." She asks. "Uhh, yes I would like a pumpkin spice latte." I say and turn to Nikki. "I'll have the same thanks." He says and gives her a small smile. "Sure. I'll be right back with your order. " she says as she walks away. For a while we just sit there in silence. It's comfortable not awkward thankfully. "So how've you been?" Nikki asks. "You know touring. It's great though. " I say with a nervous laugh. "You don't sound great though. Ashley is everything okay?" He asks. "I'm sorry." I say my eyes getting watery. "I'm sorry if I did anything wrong that made you leave the band." I add as the tears fall freely now. "oh no. don't apologize, you didn't do anything wrong. I promise you." Nikki quickly adds while coming over to my side and hugging me. "Then what made you leave?" I ask confused. "I uh.... I can't tell you right now. But I promise I will Let you Know why, when the time is Right." he responds. I quickly nod understanding. not long after we get our lattes. after our touching moment we talk about what we've been up to and stuff like that. and it feels like he's always been with us, like he never left the band. It broke my heart when he told me he was leaving the band. that night was the night I was finally gonna tell him my feelings for him.

* Flashback*

"Alright Scottsdale! How are we doing so far?!" I ask the crowd and they cheer back. "Unfortunately this is our last song, can you help me sing it!" I yell as they scream back. "This next song is called Malevolence" I scream as the crowd goes wild. The music starts to play. As I'm half way through the song I stand back to back with Nikki singing and head banging together. "Nothings gonna save me! the evil that I see has taken over. No ones gonna save me the damage has been done I'm righting all the wrongs! I'm Relentless like you made me!" I sang the last part. "Thank you and goodnight. Love you guys so much!" I wave goodbye and Head off stage.

I make my way to the tour bus but get quickly pulled off to the side by Nikki. "hey ash I wanted to tell you something that's important." he quickly says."Me too but you go first, I can wait" I say. 'Oh my god, is he gonna tell my what I think he's gonna tell me' I smile, nodding for him to go on. "I'm uh, I am quitting the band" he says. and in that moment my smile drops, my head is spinning and I feel nauseous.

"uhm.. what?" I say although I clearly heard what he said. "I  quit.. the band" he says again. "I'm leaving from here back to Cali. I've got my things ready in a cab to the airport. I'm sorry ash, I had to tell you after the show." He quickly adds. I just stood there shocked, I turn around and leave.  I enter the bus and lock myself in the little bathroom. about 20 mins later  I feel the bus move and that's when I realize that he actually left. My best friend left me.

*End of Flash back*

I'm happy that Nikki is back in my life.
