"Dad!" I yelled mildly, yanking off my vest from the top drawer in my closet. "Its been two months, don't you think it's a bit too early"

"I know" he said softly, walking close to me. He raised his hand up trying to ruffle my well combed hair, I dodged him at the last minute making him squeeze his face.

"Dad, I'm not ten year old anymore" I chuckled. "I'll be legally an adult in four months"

"Of course son, I understand, its just so hard to accept the fact that you're gonna be warding off of me in no time". He said sitting gently on my king sized bed covered with a green bed sheet decorated with different designs of flowers; roses, hibiscus, apricots all blooming radiantly in their cotton embroidery.

"I like being an adult, I love taking charge and taking responsibilities. It makes me feel flawless and different!"

"As an adult, you have to make and take some decisions that are way too altruistic, though it's shouldn't be too benevolent cus you can't satisfy everyone. That is why I'm deciding on this, I've got feelings too and I believe two months enough to brood over your mom's departure. Randall, we need to move on and live life as it appears living aside all admonitions. " he said while I listened to him wearing a bleak expression. "I'm taking this decision just for the sake of us both, trust me"

"No dad! I want you and Mom to be together once more, no one can ever replace her"

"Well, she's gone more, ain't nothing we can do about it." He admitted etching a doleful look. He seemed disgruntled with the way I speak but I was determined to stay right on my motion.

"You two can always settle things out, I don't know too much about love and relationships but I believe marriage can always be amended"

"You don't understand! I try hard to make things work but it seems impossible" he said, trying hard to stand his ground and defend his motion. "Son, I'm doing this for you, trust me"

"Dad! If you're really trying to do what's best for me you'll get back with mom!" I yelled loudly.

"You shouldn't talk to me in that tone of voice, it's disrespectful." He continued "She's going to be here tomorrow over dinner, you better be good to her cus if you're not I'll be disappointed! "

"Understand?!!" He added but I didn't reply. He looked at me, definitely infuriated, whatever, I didn't care. I love Mom and I still want her in our life and not some woman acting all nice trying to get a little paycheck from a rich man, I squeezed my face at the thought of that. Dad was right about everything but I wasn't ready to accept anyone order than mom.

I walked up to the bathroom and headed for the mirror, I looked at myself through the mirror and I did some meme that I got accustomed to a few years ago. I washed my face and walked out.

I got to Andrew's house in just about five minute, I hit on the doorbell tiny yellow button and I could hear as it chimed loudly inside resonating back into my hear. I mentally danced to the tune with which the doorbell was playing, maiden with a flaxen hair, I jingled my head a bit and looked back at a moving company truck passing by. I turned my head by to the door to find Drew's mom looking at me like I was sick in the head. I felt numb and covered my mouth with the back of my hand, searching thoroughly through my overheated mind what excuse I'd give her if she was really interested at the reason at which I was groving at.

"Hi! Mrs Hermann" I finally settled for greeting her.

"Randall, how are you?" She asked, smiling at me.

"I'm fine Mrs Hermann" I replied mentally kicking myself in the butt.

"I was surprised when I saw you mimic the doorbell tune" she said grinning from ear to ear.

"Oh! Nay, I was caught up in the moment, never mind me I get a little cranky at times when I'm alone"

"Okay!" She said rolling her eyes. "I was just about leaving. Andrew's up in his room, make yourself at home I'll be back in a bit. Bye!?" She waved at me left hurriedly increasing her pace every second she moved her long legs forward.

I entered taking gentle slow steps trying hard to keep my sneakers from making unnecessary squeaking noises. I took my time and did a quick survey of the living room, there has been tremendous changes in their home since his dad got a job at Microsoft Inc. I gently jammed the door shut as it had been ajar all along. I ran up the wooden staircase situated at a corner of the living room with low light. I looked back at the moving chandelier cus my heavy footsteps had caused it's metal part to move and it made some jingling sounds. I reduced my footsteps and walked up into his room which was opened. We both exchanged greetings and talked a little about school, his girlfriend, my dad and Jessie.

"Bro, how was your date with Jessie?" He asked while typing on his laptop.

"Its was horrifying, Drew" i replied hitting my forehead with my palm.

"Why?!" He asked and laughed pushing his laptop aside and sitting upright giving me his rapt attention.

"Stop looking at me like that" I said immediately I noticed the way he looked at me.

"How am I looking at you?" He asked and rolled his eyes.

"She talked me into making a crazy deal with her!"

"Hahaha, what kinda deal was that?" He asked giving me a wide grin.

"When we got to that restaurant we were to have our date, she said she didn't like it just cause it was Italian, I pleaded hard with her to stay a while but she refused and I ended up almost giving until she said she'll give it a try only if we'll do it her way!"

"Her way? What way?" He exclaimed.

"One question at a time Drew!"

"OK OK. Keep going I'm listening"

"She said she was going to stay for ten minutes, and if she wasn't impressed she'll leave. I totally accepted just cus I was bloodshot nervous. I tried hard to impress her I even did that Brad Pitt impression of the movie i watched the night before but nothing worked, I almost cried when she left. I ended up having dinner with a weird waiter with a crazy Italian accent who noticed me and tried to help me out by giving me relationship tips. Gosh! She was 45, it was very bad"

"So, what you gon' do now?" He asked speaking like a Yankee.

"I dunno, try to ask her on a date one more time and try hard to plan a romantic date with her" I huffed and grabbed his laptop. I scrolled through his last page and noticed he had been surfing softcore porn right before I entered his room. "Andrew Marco Hermann! What the hell is this?" I yelled and he came running at me from his closet.

"Gimme that!"
