No one ever imagines when they are really young, that maybe just maybe they won't have a happy fairy tale ending. We grow up innocent thinking about receiving only the best from life and when we don't, we don't know how to pick back up again.
Sometimes things change, sometimes people change turning things around for the worse or the better.
Never had I ever known my life would've turned out like this.
So many ups and downs with more to come. One gigantic emotional roller coaster, and to be honest I've never liked heights.
My Point is. We never know what to expect in life because things change.
Let's just say this morning was definitely not expected.
-
I slowly start to wake up. Yawning I glance at the time. Realizing I don't really care what the time is I snuggle further into my fuzzy blanket.
Will must've changed me last night because I'm wearing his old shirt and a pair of pink boxers shorts that I haven't worn since high school.
I debate staying in bed all day when I hear the clanking of my cooking pans downstairs.
Will doesn't cook..
I descend the stairs from my room slowly.
"Will?"
I get to the kitchen and there stands Dean. Wearing a pink frilly apron and frying bacon.
At first I blink to see if what I'm seeing is actually happening, then I find myself throwing a spatula at his forhead.
"Ow dammit!" He turns off the stove and rubs the spot where the spatula hit him. Turns out I still have great aim.
I glare at him.
"What are you doing here?!"
"Your brother let me in this morning, and before you freak out I just want to say. I know I agreed to let you think about it, but I want to show you what I'm actually like. You've only seen the work side of me, heck even I'd say no to me if I had proposed. I came here to make you breakfast, and I wanted to know if I could take you on a date all day today."
Mind a whirling I twirl the hair sticking out of my pony tail around my fingers.
Breakfast... A date? All day?
It was kinda sweet that he came here just to do that.
No stay angry Brooke. This man only wants his money, he doesn't give a shit about what happens to you afterwards.
"Can you say something please." He breaks the silence so I nod slowly.
"Fine, But at some point today you are buying me icecream."
He chuckles. "Ice cream? It's the middle of winter."
"We hardly get snow here and it's warm enough." I huff placing a hand on my hip.
He smiles and starts cleaning up his breakfast mess. He hands me a plate heaped with delicious smelling hash browns, scrambled eggs, and bacon.
"Fine. We will get ice cream. You know, you're cute when you're demanding." I take the plate,
"I know."
-
"You know what? I don't like you very much right now!"
"Ditto on that! You really think I want to marry your sorry ass right now?"
I laugh at the scene unfolding in front of us.
Us as in Dean and I.
After I ate breakfast I got dressed in my appropriate casual date attire.
Leggings, boots with super long socks, my plaid jacket and a beanie.
We were walking down the street glancing into shop windows talking when we got to witness a failed proposal scene right in front of our two eyes. Well.. Four eyes.
Dean just looked embarrassed for the man and I just laughed.
"C'mon!"
I grab his hand running away from the sqaure.
"Where are you dragging me now crazy lady?" He chuckles at his little insult and flick him.
"Only the best ice cream parlour on this entire earth."
We stop in front of an older brick building.
"The angry cow?"
He stares questioningly at the fades sign. I roll my eyes. The damn princess has probably had nothing but high class sorbet.
"Yes the angry cow. Now let's get ice cream before I go angry cow on you."
Holding open the door he smirks putting out his hand.
"Angry cow women go first."
Jerk.
I walk through the door causing the little bell to jingle. I love that sound. Will and I used to come here all the time. I'm almost in the door when Dean slaps my butt.
I turn around glaring.
"You had a leaf.." His eyes are sparkling, looking at them makes me want to...
"Sure there was."
He sing songs back, "Not lying"
I get to the counter.
"I'll have what I always get, get liar here the same."
Earl winks. (He's the dude that owns this magical frozen dairy heaven.)
"Anything for you Brooke!"
Dean makes a pouty face.
"I'm not a liar." He tells Earl before following me to the window booth in the corner.
I smirk at his attempt to regain his manly pride.
"So what's in this special order that you seem to like a lot?"
I grin. "It's got a scoop of rocky road and double choclate, and cookie dough and mint chocolate chip and Oreo and chocolate fudge and strawberry-"
He cuts me off laughing.
I kinda like the way he laughs. He hardly laughs at work so so this is kind of new to me. The way his eyes light up and the crinkles by his eyes appear.
"How are you not obese?"
"Jesus blessed me with a fast metabolism."
"I'd say."
Earl appears with our order and I squeal with excitement!
"You're going to love it!"
Earl places a mountain in front of me and a second mountain in front of Dean.
Deans eyes widen and Earl chuckles.
"Enjoy, you love birds."
I frown "oh Earl we aren't-"
"Thanks!" Dean says loudly.
I glare at him before remembering I have a mountain full of bliss sitting in front of me.
Across from me Dean let's out a sexy groan of happiness. With his mouth still full he moans,
"This is so good!"
"I know right!"
We finish our icecream rather quickly, then we head to our next destination.
Dean wanted to show me something.
I have no idea where we are going he blindfolded me shortly after leaving 'The Angry Cow'. He must've used his pocket handkerchief because I recognize his cologne. Call me creepy, but he smells amazing.
He informs me we are about to get into a taxi and like a gentlemen he helps me into the vehicle carefully.
About five minutes into the ride I slump on the seat.
"Are we thereeeee yet?"
Even though I'm blindfolded I could tell Dean was rolling his eyes.
"How old are you?"
"You want to marry me you should know this."
"Someone's extremely sassy today."
I smirk.
"I'm always sassy. Is it taking so long because you're driving me out of the city to murder me?"
"Um .. No? If you ask anymore questions then maybe."
"Someone's extremely sassy today." I mock him sticking out my tongue.
"I'm always sassy."
Soon the ride ends and I find my small hand intertwined with Dean's larger one. I still have no clue as to where he's taking me. He tells me we are now in an elevator and I can tell we are going up because of the way my stomach flips and drops.
The ride lasted for about three minutes or so. With a gentle tug of my arm he leads me into a small stairwell. We climb a total of eighteen steps, I hear the swoosh of a door and a cool breeze hits my face.
"You can take the blind fold off now."
I untie the blind fold slowly, when I take it off I can't help but gasp.
It looks as though we've climbed to the top of the city. The sky above melting into deep pinks and purples. Below us civilians continue onward their journeys, but for me it's as if time is infinite.
Together we watch silently as the sky transforms from beauty to darkness.
"I should take you home now. It's getting chilly." He grabs my hand and I allow him to escort me back to the elevator.
"How did you know about the view?"
I'm curious.
"well since I'm sort of a workaholic if take breaks up here and I've seen some of the most beautiful sunsets. I wanted to share it with you because I knew you would like it." He waits for my reaction brushing his hand through his dark curls as if embarrassed.
I snort. "Sort of a workaholic."
We grin back and forth and I smile once more.
"I did like it. Today was.. Fun."
He takes my hand in his and flags down a taxi.
I can't help but turn away and blush. Staying angry might actually turn out to be a huge challenge. Please vote and comment!
