Flashback
2 days before he died

I walked around the mall supervising everyone. My job was an assistant manager of my store that I recently opened. I touched my name tag and pointed it to one of my workers. She quickly straightened it. I pointed to the tissue paper on the floor and the other worker picked it up and threw it. The mall was quite famous and spacious so it was usually crowded.

I walked around contentedly until I heard some shouting. "What is this commotion?" I frowned as I walked towards it.

"This is not how you should run a business! How many times do I have to ask for a refund?" Shouted the customer. My worker looked at me with pleading eyes.

"Look me in the eyes and speak! What's your name?" The customer questioned my worker.

I hurriedly cut in. "Is there any problem here, ma'am?" "I wore it just once and this is what it became." She said showing me the dirty pants.

"If I knew it would become dirty so easily, I wouldn't have bought it!" She shouted at me.

Our policy is to never shout at customers and treat everyone equally. We had to handle things calmly.

" I'm sorry for the inconvenience." I said with a smile. "However, we cannot refund a merchandise that has been worn" I said sincerely. "You cannot?!" She said with a scoff. "AM I TALKING TO DEAF EARS RIGHT NOW!" She shouted. "Refund this right now! Give me back my money!"

"We can't ma'am." I said with a smile. "Do I look funny to you?" The customer questioned. "No ma'am" I replied with a smile. The customer rolled her eyes and scoffed. " I'm really in a bad mood today."

"Fine, let's have a talk then!" She shouted and pulled my hair. "Ow!" I stood rooted in my position. "Come here!" She shouted. "Please calm down!" I said in clenched teeth as she tugged my hair.

" How's sales?" I asked my good friend Nathan. "It's not going so well." He replied with a sigh. "It's okay. It's only the beginning." I confronted my friend. As we walked, he pointed to a woman. "Look over there." He smiled.

I looked over and saw my wife Esme Carter with our baby girl Lilith Isobel Carter. "Wait here" I told him and jogged over to my wife Izzy.

"Hey." I whispered and pecked my daughter and wife cheeks. "What are you 2 doing here?" I asked. "Oh we were just shopping." She replied. "Well sorry to interrupt you girls but you should get going before anyone sees us." I said as I gently pushed them forward to make them walk faster. "I hope you know that you doing this only makes it more obvious." Esme chuckled.

"Daddy, it's okay. We don't have to go because no one will find. Look at mommy. Nobody would suspect a guy like you is her husband." Said my so called daughter Lilith. Esme let out a giggle.

" I used to have muscles and abs before I got a job. Ask your mom." I said flexing my muscular arms that was hidden underneath layers of fat.

"I have to admit that is true." My wife agreed. " But I still love you the same." She smiled. I hugged them and said goodbye.

Guess the day isn't that bad after all. Too late. Just jinxed myself.

I accidentally stepped on someone's shoes and not just anyone's shoes. It was the CEO's shoes. I immediately removed my foot.
