"Lily would you like to go to the dance on Saturday with me?" He asked. He was nervous, but you couldn't tell. At least Lily couldn't.
Her blue eyes grew even bigger and her jaw literally dropped. Is this real? she thought to herself. Here was her crush asking her to go to the dance with him.
Richard couldn't help but smile at her reaction. She was absolutely adorable. Which was making this even harder, but he kept up the facade.
"Are you serious?" she voiced.
Richard just laughed and a warm, cuddly feeling spread throughout her body.
"I'm dead serious Lily," he said in his deep voice. His eyes focused on her and he stared at her with a hint of amusement and happiness. Lily smiled and hugged her arms closer as she chewed on her bottom lip.
Richard knew she was beautiful, but for some strange reason this drove him mad. He wanted to kiss her so badly. He wanted to hold her, kiss her, touch her and oh my gosh stop thinking like a creep! He scolded himself.
"So you'll go with me?" He asked hopefully.
Lily was too stunned. She couldn't respond, she didn't know how. Her mind was reeling at a million miles an hour. Her dreams were coming true. The sweetest guy in the whole wide world was asking her to go the dance! This was huge, it was a milestone, it was Homeric!
He stood there with a hopeful gleam in his eyes and a cute, little smile. His hand was nervously resting on his neck as he waited patiently for her answer.
She couldn't stand it! He was driving her crazy! He was adorable and sweet and it was like she was in heaven.
"Yes," she whispered. A huge smile spread on his face showing off his pearly whites. His face brightened up and seeing this made her smile even wider.
"Awesome," he said and he leaned in close.
Lily's eye's widened at his sudden move and she was frozen in place. He placed his soft lips on her cheek and she sucked in a breath. This can't be real! Am I dreaming? Did I die and go to heaven?
Her blue eyes closed at the feel of his lips as they lingered a little longer. Her sudden intake of breath made Richard smile and kiss her cheek again. When he pulled back he saw her face and smiled gently.
Guilt washed over him causing his smile to turn into a frown and goosebumps to appear as he realized what he was ultimately doing. The warmth from the intimate moment was gone as the cool, night air stung his arms. He walked away as quickly as he could. The longer he looked at her the more guilty he would feel.
Lily was in a completely blissful state. Her school won a big game, her crush asked her to the dance and kissed her on the cheek!
Nobody can Drag Me Down!! She belted as she sang to One Direction's new song. That's how she felt. She felt on top of the world and nobody was going to drag her down.
