Maryanne was quickly losing patience with the young king.
Maryanne's blonde hair was neatly tucked into a fishtail braid and her bright blue eyes was focused on the king. Her pantsuit stuck slightly to her skin from the humid weather from outside the old style castle they were in.
'He should never had been crowned king' she thought. Maryanne remembered how quickly the royal advisors had tried to find a new king after King James died. So quickly, in fact, that the kingdom had any time to grieve before having to get ready for the 17 year old prince to be crowned.
The entire kingdom thought that having the 17 year old rule would devalue his father but no one said in anything, in the fear of the king ordering them dead.
Maryanne snapped out of her memories and stared at the king that half sat half laid on the throne. His brown hair spilled haphazardly out of the crown that sat on the top of his head. The Kings light gray eyes were filled with disinterest as he surveyed the expensive looking throne room. His slightly pale skin seems to glow against the brightness of the gold throne.
"Sit up straight, Matthew!" Mary's commanding tone caught Matthew off guard. Unwilling to make Maryanne angry, he quickly sat up straight and looked directly at her. Containing a small smile, Maryanna cleared her throat and began to tell the young king the bad news.
"It seems that your fiancé will be unable to make it to the ball," Maryanna scowled at Matthew when he let out a relieved sigh. "But her ladies-in-waiting will be able to attend as schedule." Matthew's expression turned sour in an instant as he thought of the 3 witches that are going by the names of 'ladies-in-waiting'.
Though they were all very pretty their personalities were the worst he had ever encountered.
