She finally burned. Now I need holy water. I can't go into the house, I don't know how the exercism is going. But I can't leave her ashes out here. She can put them back together and become the doll again. I need a different plan.
I walk to the church with a small cup to hold the water in. Once, I get there, I open the door. It's deserted. There's no one in here. I go to the fountain and place the cup in it. It fills with holy water. I exit the church and begin walking back down the road.
I keep walking when suddenly, right in front of me I see the doll, holding a bloody knife and running towards me. It statles me and I slip, spilling all the holy water and her knife going into my hand. I take it out and see a gash. Then, I see her smiling and running back down the path. I have a very small bit of holy water left in the cup. I can still use it. I continue to still walk down the path when I begin to hear giggling and see shadows running around in the woods. I just ignore it, I can't afford to lose the rest of the holy water that I have.
I finally make it back to my house to see that the ashes are missing. And so is the doll. I see the preist coming outside. I walk towards him, hoping the exercisim was a success.
"She's sleeping now, but she should be fine." he says. "Do you by some chance know what happened to the doll?"
"No. I burned her, but her ashes are missing. And I saw her when I was walking back and my hand." I showed him my bleeding hand. He just shook his head.
"Come in. Let's wrap that up." I walked into my house, praying the doll would be gone.
~the next night~
"They asked for my story. I have told it. Enough." I close the book. I just finished reading "The Women in Black." It was a very interesting book. I look at the clock. 10:00. I go upstairs to check on Elizabeth to make sure she's sleeping. To my surprise, she's not in her bed. Fear comes over my body. I think of all the possibilities in where she could be.
Maybe in the bathroom, maybe she's somewhere else in the house. I close my eyes and tak a deep breath to try and calm myself down. Then, when I open them, he's standing right in front of me.
Tom.
"Tom, where's Elizabeth?" I ask him.
"Mother, the doll. You didn't put the holy water on the ashes. You didn't spread the ashes. They came back together. She's not dead. You still have to kill her." I feel cold air coming over me. I feel every muscle in my body freeze. If she's not dead, and Elizabeth's not here, that can mean only one thing.
"Tom, please, please tell me where she is." I collapse onto the ground and begin crying. I feel a wind blowing on me. I look up and at her window. It's opened.
I run to the window. Of course since it's dark out I can't see anything. I don't want to go down alone. "AURTHUR!" I shout. He comes running into the room.
"Where's Elizabeth?" he asks. I point out the window and begin crying even harder. I fall onto the floor, too weak to get up.
Then, something comes over me and I run outside, Aurthur following me. I fly out the front door and run fast down the steps off the front porch. I stop dead in my tracks. I look to my left and look at the ground. There she is. My sweet little Elizabeth. Dead.
"NO!!!!!" I run to her body. It's cold. Her heart isn't beating. I see a bloody line across her neck. Crystal cut it there. Elizabeth couldn't have had that cut from the fall. I look at the house. There's a message on the wall.
"You're next Alice."
I feel the chills come over me. I look to find Aurthur, but he's gone. Then, I hear a small thud. I look in the direction it came from. I immediately look to the ground, knowing Crystal might have made that noise. But I didn't see Crystal. Instead, I saw Aurthur. Dead.
That's when I felt a pain in my ankle. I look at where the pain is coming from and I see Crystal holding a bloody knife in my ankle. I scream in pain, but there's no one to rescue me. I quickly kick my leg. The knife comes out and I scream even louder. Then, I stop. I look back at the ground and Crystal is missing. That's when I feel something hit me hard in the stomach and I fall to the ground.
I look at Elizabeth. I see her face. There's two cuts on it from ear to ear. A giant, unnatural smile. I feel tears on my face. I look to Aurthur, knowing I'll be dead soon. I see his face one last time, but the smile is exactly like Elizabeth's. I feel a pain in my chest and put my hand on it. I feel something wet. It's blood.
I hear small footsteps. They're Crystals. She comes up next to my face. But then, I don't see her anymore. I see a tall shadow. The face leans in close to my face. My Aunt Crystal.
"You've freed me Alice. Now I can be at peace once and for all. Can you give me a smile?" I look at her, hatred in my eyes. She killed my mom, daughter, and husband. She beat me. I hate her.
"No. I hate you. I wish you were gone. I wish you never existed." I say it in an angered tone.
"Fine Alice. I'll get you to smile for me." she begins laughing an evil laugh. That's when I feel the knife slide up both of my cheeks and everything goes black.
Now I'm dead. And I'll forever have a smile.
To be continued.......
