The Dipper's POV

"What even is Dipcifica Mabel?" As usual, Mabel wasn't making any sense leaving me completely confused.

"It's your and Pacifica's ship name Dipper. Speaking of Pacifica, don't you have a date?" She sounded like she expected me to know what a ship is.

Wait, I do have a date!  I need to get out of here. Fast. "My WHAT name? A ship? Like the ones that float? Girl, why you ackin' so cray cray?" I snapped my fingers for added effect.  I used her signature line against her, and now she's stunned. Time to make my move!  And with that thought, I was out the door and in my car before she could process the sentence and come up with a response. Ship names, how  ridiculous. I guess it makes sense though, in a crazy way. Wait a second, 'ship' must be short for relationship!  Of course! Geez, it was so obvious. Wait, Mabel said Dipcifica was my and Pacifcica's ship name. Does that mean there are other ships? Oh god, there are others!  I shuddered as I thought of other ships. Aw crap, now I'm doing it. Mabel's really rubbing off on me. I pressed a little harder on the gas pedal so I wouldn't be late for my date. Greasy's Diner seems much farther away when you're not on time. I was in the middle of my heavy sprint to the door when something, or rather someone, collided with me. I rubbed my head and looked up to chew out whoever hit me when I noticed the blonde hair and blue eyes.

"Pacifica? You're the one who ran into me? I was just running in there to meet you! I guess I'm not the only one who's a bit late." We both laughed and then stood up. But as I helped her up, I saw  a bruise about the size of a quarter on her left cheek. It looked like she was trying to hide it with makeup, but it was pretty dark and no amount of makeup could hide it. "Are you okay Pacifica? You've got a big bruise on your face."

"Shit you can see that! I thought my master makeup skills could hide it, but I guess not. Yeah, my dad doesn't want me seeing you. Something about not 'socializing with the riff raff.' He left this as a warning mark." I took a closer look and saw her eyes were puffy and red. She'd been crying. I guess the bruise wasn't the only mark he left.

"Yeah well, I'll kick Preston's rich, snobby-"

"Dipper, he's my father and even though he's evil you can't bad mouth him in front of me. Although I appreciate that you care." She managed  to cut me off, but I still meant what I said. "And anyway if anyone's going to hurt my father in any form, it's going to me." I couldn't help but smile at her words. She was a feisty one. I like that.

"So, shall we go in?" I spoke in a mock tone and bowed overdramatically as she walked past. "Hey Paz, Mabel said something earlier that was pretty crazy. She said that our relationship was known as 'Dipcifica.' She said that's a 'ship name'. Ship is short for relationship. So that got me thinking about my other ex-girlfriends back in Piedmont. Like how my ex Amanda and I would've been known as Amandipp, or Creepy Victoria and I would have been 'shipped' as Diptoria. It was just crazy." Even though I said that, it made sense in some sort of way.

"Oh I know all about ships and whatnot Dipper. You forget I hang out with Mabel all the time. I mean, we just went shopping yesterday for Pete's sake. She tells me all about this kind of stuff. Like how she calls Baron Marius and Grenda 'Marienda' or how she used to call you and Wendy 'Wendip.'"  Mental note: Strangle Mabel for telling Pacifica about 'Wendip'.  I guess Pacifica knows more than I give her credit for.
