By Your Side || Hyungwon

My mom died. I can't believe it. She suffered so much but atleast now she can live in peace. It's just me and my dad left and we decided to leave Seoul for Paju because of the bad memories left in our house.

Dad thought a place more peaceful than Seoul could heal us.

We loaded the truck with all the things we will be bringing. I gave one last look to our house and finally left.

I rode at the back of the car which was open. Enjoying the breeze to clear my mind. I thought of everything.

My dad probably has it harder than me. He has to work hard for us to live. I will strive to be a good daughter for him.

I can do this.
I will set my mom free and start anew for the better.

....

We arrived in the afternoon of Paju. Yes, the community we will now be living in was much more peaceful and quiet unlike busy Seoul. It felt different.

I have to adjust life here because I'm a city girl. Anyways I helped my dad with all our things since its just the two of us now.

It was late in the evening when we finished setting up the whole house. The house itself was clean so we had not much of work to do. The space was smaller than our house before but its alright.

"Dad, take a rest now. Ill go upstairs, it's already late in the evening." I said.
"Yes, sure." he said.

I went upstairs to my room. It's the only room above.

I opened the window and looked around our village. I realized that all houses we're completely shut this evening. Weird.

It's very secure. Why? In a great village like this would there be anything strange for the people to act like this?

I didn't mind it when suddenly I saw a boy of my age walking the streets. He was tall and handsome I could see. He was also..... PALE.

He stopped and looked up at me.

Hyungwon

I'm a vampire but I'm not like the rest. I protect humans from my kind who try to kill them.

Alot of lives have been lost and I won't tolerate it since they have been victims when they're innocent.

I walked around the streets late at night to check on everything. I never get tired because I'm immortal.

Just then, I felt a really strong scent. It was really fresh and good but it was unfamiliar to me. Did one of these people forget to bring their protection?

I stopped and looked up.

There she was. A girl I have never seen around. She must be new and didn't know anything. It will be hard if she finds out the secret of this place. I must protect her from the others.

Sophia

It seemed like the guy was glaring at me so I got creeped out and closed the window.

"What was that? So strange. Maybe I'm just imagining things." I said to myself and quickly went to sleep.

Wonho

I am the leader of our tribe. I have killed alot of humans and I am very powerful however, I seem to never go up against Hyungwon and defeat him.

We are just so equal with power. He killed lots of my men but I still have my friends who are loyal to me. He can never defeat me first.

Hyungwon is probably doing his routine again in monitoring the whole place while we too, try to find ways to sneak and suck blood out of commoners.

I suddenly smelled a strong beautiful scent of a girl. I immeadiately called my friends Shownu, Minhyuk, Kihyun, Jooheon and Changkyun so we could trace it.

"Guys, we got a new target. I know you can smell it too so let's go!" I commanded.

Hyungwon

She closed the window and left. Aishh... this house isn't secured yet. If I leave, I know the people there going to be drained soon.

I should stay and guard the house. I know Wonho is coming to get this house soon.

Wonho

We came and found the house but guess who's here.
Hyungwon.

"Oh, my greatest enemy. You're fast once again. You got here first. Looks like it's gonna be tough for us before we get to have those people." I said.

"Fight me if you want. You will never win. I'm determined to protect the people here." he challenged.

My group were about to charge at him but I hinted them to stop for awhile.

"You know what? Sometimes I wonder what you are. How could you be made so pathetic? You have a weak heart. You're never gonna survive long enough trying to resist the urge of killing those people when you're powerful enough to do so for your own good."

"Shut up, Shin Wonho. Don't try to deceive me."

"You're not giving up?....
ATTACK HIM!!" I ordered.

Hyungwon

His group began to charge at me but I fought with all I can. I'm sure they took more hits and scratches than I did.

We kept fighting for so long and they began to grow exhausted and I was too.

I must stay strong.

I got mad and changed my state. I grew fangs, sharp nails, and red eyes. I tried to frighten them with how I looked and they soon didn't dare approach me.

Wonho now attacked me and our skills were really equal so it was harder.

I could see that soon he was getting tired of it so when he wasn't aware I quickly took the chance to hit him with my most powerful punch and I scratched his neck.

Wonho

"Wow." I backed off after getting hit and scratched by Hyungwon.
"You're so determined eyyy... We'll get back to you soon." I warned him and quickly left away with my group.

Hyungwon

They left and I was glad.
I sat on the roof of the house and guarded it the whole night. I only left when the sun was up because the sun pains me harder when I'm in my vampire state.

So, this is part one of protecting that girl. She has alot to learn so I will be here to stay by her side and protect her.
