Twenty Four

Sophia

It's prom night today and I am feeling quite nervous about it. I don't know but I'm just feeling not ready!! Looking at the clock, I saw that it was already 4:30 pm and prom starts at seven. I usually take so much time to fix myself so I planned to start getting ready at this time.

I prepared my prom dress which was a peach colored long gown.
I was going to style my own self for today. I can do this, fighting! I went in front of the mirror and carefully curled my hair with rollers so that theyll have a light wave. I then took out all the makeup I have and started to doing my makeup...

So far so good, well I did look well and I was satisfied that I didn't mess up my face. I was still putting on my makeup when my phone suddenly rang.

Hyungwon

Tonight is prom and I'm quite nervous... I have alot prepared for tonight and I can't help but be really nervous. I calmed down myself and dialed the number of Sophia so I can check on her.

"Annyeong.." I said

"Ne, Hyungwon-ah?"

"Ani... Nothing.. Well tonight is prom.. Umm are you getting ready now?"

"Oh.. Yeah actually. How about you?"

"I styled my hair. Well its the thing I've done yet."

"Ohh.. I'm actually a bit nervous for tonight." She giggled.

I'm actually more nervous than you are.. You just don't know Sophia..

"Hajima.. It's just me. I can't wait to see you later. Prepare yourself well!"

"Ne.. Annyeong! See you later!" She said.

This really is gonna be for real.

Sophia

Hyungwon fetched me from my house and we rode all the way to the venue of our prom. He was quite funny because he looked like he was in awe when he saw me and he kept showering me with cute compliments. I admit, he was really very good looking too and his hair looks good on him as well as his tuxedo.

We arrived just on time and alot of people were already there with their escorts as well.
Everybody was just socializing with others and were taking lots of pictures. Hyungwon and I went with our other classmates to hang out with and I had fun talking with them and taking pictures. Everyone looked wonderful.

We sat down on our table along with others and I started to eat. Hyungwon felt quite awkward during the meal. I saw him about to eat to fit in.

"Ya. Don't" I whispered.

"Then.... What am I gonna do here as you all eat?" He asked.

"Gwaenchanha. Don't force yourself.. Why don't you go near Jooheon and the boys? They don't eat as well." I suggested.

He gave me a hesitant look because Jooheon was Wonho's friend and it wasn't really great between them.

"Don't worry. Wonho and I talked about this." I assured him and trusted me. He left going to the boys because he didn't want to be awkward in our table.

After some more time, it was finally time for our dance. Hyungwon and I danced together and I noticed him smiling widely yet there was a hint of nervousness in him.

"Yeppeuda, Kim Sophia." He said to me.

"Ya, how many times do you have to repeat that? Gwaenchanha?" I asked because I noticed him feeling quite bothered by something.

"Let's just enjoy this dance." He said.

Our dance was really great and the music was good at the current mood so I was able to enjoy every moment I spent of it. Hyungwon's eyes were beautiful everytime we both looked at each other.

Suddenly, everyone stopped dancing and the music lowered down its volume.

"What's up here?" I said.

Hyungwon suddenly took his hands off me and walked away to the front and center of this place taking a microphone with him.

"Y-ya..." I tried to say as he left me.

I was confused at what was happening but everyone looked fine. I watched Hyungwon as he gave a signal to the DJ.
I could see him look at me in the eyes from afar when music started playing.

I looked at him and suddenly he started singing.

"Hundreds of confessions without success
I feel so unconfident should I just go back

I was really surprised of what he was doing because I never knew he was going to sing tonight in prom. But I couldn't deny, I loved his voice. He might not be the best singer but his voice and the way he sang the song captivated me and left me smiling. He sang a short part of the song and suddenly he started speaking.

"You." He suddenly pointed and everyone else looked at me smiling.

"Kim Sophia, I like you so much and I know that you know that too. We have been together for sometime now, starting out as friends. We have continuously known each other through time and there might be flaws or things we have learned about each other that weren't nice, I was glad to know you still accepted me. Through those times I never expected that it started this certain feeling I have for you and Kim Sophia, I wasn't able to explain this feeling I have for you all along. You melted my cold heart and made me open up. You were very special to me... And you will always be. Now I know,

Sophia, I love you... Will you be my girlfriend?" He said.

My eyes widened and I was blushing like crazy with all those things he had said infront of everybody. It was so unexpected of him to plan something sweet like this. Everyone kept quiet anticipating my answer. Someone suddenly handed a mic over to me

I couldn't make him wait any longer...

"Yes. I will be your girlfriend Chae Hyungwon."

Everybody began to cheer and clap for us as Hyungwon began to walk towards me. He stood up in front of me and we were both smiling widely.

"Saranghae.." He smiled

"Nado, saranghae." I said

We hugged each other tightly and I could see he couldn't hide his happiness.

I'm Chae Hyungwon's girlfriend now! I can't believe it! We both might be different but for me it doesn't matter. I love him so much and I am very happy with him.
